Yes - try Rosemary Conley 'amazing inch loss plan' - lose a stone in four weeks - sensible eating plus exercise (you will probably need to do more than she suggests Grin).

How tall are you - 10st 2lbs does sound a very healthy weight - I would love to be that weight Smile.

Good luck.

I did Weight Watchers once and lost 10lbs in a week, so it definitely can be done.

DorisVinyard · 23/02/2011 14:11

Slimfast - monotonous but if you stick rigidly to it, it is very effective.

lilly153 · 23/02/2011 14:41

yeah i went n bought the slimfast stuff but what use to be their fruit smoothies is now milkshake so forest fruit milk shake and its not nice at all :(

I did from pig to twig and lost a stone in a little over 9 weeks.

munkysea · 23/02/2011 19:44

Losing a stone over 9 weeks means losing just over 1.5lb a week (or 1.55 recurring if you're being pedantic). Weight-loss schemes such as Weight Watchers recommend losing about that a week, and it's entirely do-able. You could try using www.livestrong.com to track calories and up your exercise.

foreverondiet · 23/02/2011 19:53

It depends.

My BMI is now 23.38 - I am 9 stone 10 lbs and 5 foot 4. My weight loss since October has been roughly 2lbs a week on average - I was 12 stone 5lbs. I'd like to be 9 stone 5lbs.

However my weight loss has now slowed down and unless I totally starved myself and done loads of exercise I couldn't loose a stone in the next 9 weeks, although I hope to loose the last 5lbs by Ds2 first birthday in roughly 9 weeks.

Rosemary Coneley is very low fat in conjunction with calorie counting.

VoldemortsNipple · 23/02/2011 20:17

lilly Im the same size and weight. Do you want a buddy. Smile

needmyrootsdone · 23/02/2011 20:18

Les Mills bodypump - 3 times/week on top of what you are doing

Ormirian · 23/02/2011 20:21

I just lost 9lb in one week.

Low-carb. It works. I know people don't approve but . The weight loss will slow over the next few weeks but I confidently expect to have lost a stone by the end of the first month.

FourFortyFour · 23/02/2011 21:10

Ormirian, I am struggling a bit with the low carbing. Have stayed the same weight for 2 weeks. Any advice please?

Invisiblesoul · 23/02/2011 21:12

I lot 13lbs in 5 days doing the maple syrup diet. It's not healthy but it bloody works

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2011 21:15

I second low-carb (Hi, Orm!). You still get to eat all the good stuff, and the weight drops off.

India & Neris's Pig to Twig book is a good one to follow.

didldidi · 23/02/2011 21:19

what do you eat for breakfast (have to be at work early) on low carb?

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2011 21:30

Well didldidi, funny you should ask, I found low-carb breakfasts the hardest.

If you are at home it's easy - eggs and bacon, boiled egg and asparagus soldiers, linseed pancakes etc.

But for something quick, I often have greek yogurt (full fat) with nuts and berries, not as low-carb as it could be, but it works for me. Or you can have cheese, salami, anything high protein really.

The Pig to Twig book has more ideas.

Invisiblesoul · 23/02/2011 21:36

Fwiw I lost the majority of my weight on the Atkins (8.5 stone loss in total, size 20 to an 8) I still eat low carb. I think it's the easiest to follow

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2011 21:45

Invisiblesoul - wow, fantastic weight loss! I agree, low-carb is so easy to stick to. I'll happily give up spuds, rice, pasta and sugar if it means I can still eat cheese, eggs, steak etc.

Ormirian · 23/02/2011 22:16

I tend to just eat some grilled bacon. It doesn't take long really. Or some cheese.

Re the stall in loss - I am no expert I'm afraid. Just stick to it and be patient. Check that you haven't increased your carb intake without realising -too many nuts or low-sugar products? There is a sort of lc booster you can do where you reduce to 5g of carbohydrate for just 3 days. It can sometimes get things started again. Check you are drinking enough water too.

FourFortyFour · 23/02/2011 22:17

Actually I know I am not drinking as much water so will definitely do more of that tomorrow. Thank you.

foreverondiet · 23/02/2011 22:32

FourFortyFour - weight loss also often stalled in 2nd half of menstrual cycle. Mine has stalled too.

didldidi · 24/02/2011 07:33

Thanks for those ideas - might check out that book.

FourFortyFour · 24/02/2011 09:01

foreveronadiet - that I interesting as it is that time but I assumed it was because I have had a rotten 2 weeks and haven't done very well.

foreverondiet · 24/02/2011 09:32

FourFortyFour - body retains fluids in run up to period. Don't worry about scales until day 3-4 of period.

I'm going to have another go at dukan next week. Its extreme but it works v well (basically a week of low fat protein only!) helped me last time I hit a plateau.
