November starters?

FluentAquaMoose · 02/11/2026 10:00

Not sure if there is a thread yet but I started yesterday about 6pm.

It's taken me months to finally start as I've been wary of the side effects, bruising from the needle etc and i'm planning of doing this slowly and staying on the 2.5mg. I'm 53, 5ft 2, and currently a size 16. I've piled the weight on these past couple of years since starting HRT and i've become really uncomfortable in myself so here I am. I do go to the gym 3/4 times a week concentrating on strength training and I'm really hoping this will give the help that I've been looking for as I've become really conscious of a lower pouch that I've developed. I'd love to loose 3/4 stone and be more of a size 12. When I was married my ex husband told me I was an embarrassment because I was a size 14 so weight issues have become tied up quite mentally with me too.

My husband and I have just started and I am the same size and height as you. I think I want to loose 2 stone max but I’ve got be careful not to loose too much.

we are on Weygovy!

This sounds so horrible about your ex husband OP. It’s really sad that comments like that have made you feel like this. Sad thing is that we are the uk average size! Glad he’s now an ex husband!

I'm on Mounjaro and only my work colleague knows. I'm hoping to feel it more with my clothes rather than look at the scales as scales are a hate from my ex husband.

Welcome all one the WLI journey - the only regret I heard so far (I started in July) was not to start earlier! There is lot of anxiety at the very beginning but then the food noise stops and it is brilliant!

EducatingRosemary · 02/11/2026 22:23

Popping in to wish you the best of luck from the November 2025 starters thread.

By way of positive inspiration, I have lost over 3 stone in the last year. I hit my target weight March/April and have maintained since. Age 56 (started age 55). 5ft 7”.

i started on 2.5 and have stayed on 2.5 for the whole time. I buy 5mg pens and do half doses from those to save money. Moved to a new provider each time and now using my stockpile! Other than 4-5 days of headaches in the early weeks I’ve not had any negative side effects. Life changing as I feel SO much better 😊

I'm looking at starting too.. Ive been thinking about it for a few months now. I guess I havent started because I really dont want to tell anyone but I am on statins and HRT. I get my statin through the nHS and HRT privately.. I dont want to tell my NHS GP about going on a GLP1 as I am wary he will judge me.. Hes made some comments previously about how you cant get them through the NHS and its not fair that people can buy them privately.. wondering if anyone else is on statins as well as HRT and if they have had any problems

I've stopped taking my HRT - only just though although I did think about starting up again this morning. I'm going to do some research today. It's been suggested that I take beta blockers for my tremor but I haven't taken the GP up on those yet. I don't want people to know too. I've never really had a waist so hoping that moving a few stone this way, adding in the change in my exercise to strength training will help. It's taken me months to take the plunge and do this and as my original post, i'm planning on doing this slowly and staying on the 2.5mg. Despite my BMI being high, both my diabetes range and cholesterol are still in healthy range. My only medical issue is high blood pressure which is controlled with a low dose of medication and now that's back within perfect range )as per the practice nurse a couple of weeks ago).

I'm hoping to lose about 3st too 🙂i've had bad bruising from the injection but i do bruise easily anyway so i'm using arnica cream to see if that helps. I usually suffer from nausea in the mornings anyway but this morning, none and I haven't yet eaten but it will be greek yoghurt and a few berries. Did you take any supplements alongside? i take vitamin D as per the GP because my levels bump along just above critical despite summer sun!

Hello, please can I join you? I started today!

I joined an October thread as I thought I'd be able to sneak in at the weekend, but couldn't collect my mounjaro until today (am with ASDA).

I'm going to weigh and measure first thing. Am v v v nervous about side effects but have read everything and am hopefully prepared.

I have 5 stone to lose, 5ft 7, been hit hard by the menopause but determined to turn this nonsense around!

Good luck everyone!

user1496146479 · 03/11/2026 20:48

I started on Friday just gone. 2.5mg with mounjaro. Feeling okay so far, although slightly anxious about potentially constipation etc. 5ft 6 and 199lbs currently.

QueefQueen80s · 03/11/2026 21:00

What do you mean weights gone on since hrt? Do you mean it increased your appetite like the contraceptive pill does?

ChapterFifty · 03/11/2026 21:11

Can I join please? I took my first dose of mounjaro a couple of hours ago and feeling nervous and excited at the same time! I’m 50 next month and so fed up of being on a diet and starving myself or off a diet and feeling guilty! I’ve been over weight since childhood and I’m hoping that this could be the thing that changes my life! I’m 5ft 4 and start weight is 12st 11. Hoping to lose about 3 stone. I also drink far too much red wine so I’m hoping it will help me significantly reduce that too!
How has everyone found the first few days? Has anyone had any side effects?

llareggub · 03/11/2026 22:21

I’ve just signed up with Voy and they’ve prescribed Wegovy. I’ve got a lot to lose. I’m 51 and my weight piled on after getting sepsis a few years back. It took me ages to get over it and I stopped all exercise. Plus, I love food. I eat when I’m sad, happy, whenever. I’m pretty sure that the switch that is meant to me thst I’m full doesn’t work for me.

looking forward to starting this journey with you all. Realistically I have around 6 stone to lose.

JuggedHare · Yesterday 07:32

Here are my stats:

CW: 102kg
GW: 70kg

Also taken waist/hips/thigh/neck measurements.

No side effects so far but will log all food and water (2l minimum) on Nutracheck.

Will pick up peppermint tea bags and protein rich lunch on way to work.

Hope everyone else is ok today!

Blimey, @llareggub , that sounds very serious. I hope you are feeling better now.

I also piled on the weight over 2021 - 2023 after a the menopause struck and my joint pain was so bad I barely moved for a year. HRT has helped but I am also a food lover, so even though I now exercise lots, I'm still eating too much.

I have 5 stone to lose - starting at 102kg/16 stone, would like to be 70kg/11 stone. So a similar amount to you.

When do you hope to start?

@ChapterFifty I took my first MJ dose yesterday around 4pm. Next week it'll be in the morning, I just wanted to do it or I'd procastinate.

So far, so good. A bit spacey. Nothing noticeable. But I'm following the advice of drinking water, peppermint tea and prioritising protein.

I've had a small pot of full-fat plain yoghurt and a banana. I am not at all hungry and could have easily not eaten at all. Lunch will be a small salad with 2 boiled eggs.

How are you feeling?

FluentAquaMoose · Yesterday 11:26

I had my bloods and check done at the doctors about 6 weeks ago and I was 91kg. Took me a while to acknowledge that and because of the history over my weight with my ex-h and subsequent partners, I'm not stepping back on any scales. I'll know from my clothes and how they start fitting. I will however take some measurements. I'm yet to get back in the gym as I've had covid/flu and then a ruddy complicated tooth extraction (2 weeks ago). I've not eaten yet today but will be heading for some Greek yoghurt soon, banana, blueberries and soft pears. I generally stick to yoghurt for lunch at work so that isn't anything out of the ordinary for me. Fingers crossed to everyone and hopefully we get the results we are looking for.

Hello, hope I’m ok to join as I haven’t actually started yet. I did do MJ last year and lost 2 stone, felt much better for it. Then stopped for financial reasons and put it all back on and more. Really depressing. My health has gone downhill and I need surgery but I’m too fat for it at the moment. I need to get my BMI down to below 35.

so I’m thinking of starting again, but can’t really afford it. Wondered about the cheaper option of the pills (which would be more convenient for me too tbh) but I’m worried as I didn’t loose weight easily on the jabs before. Didn’t loose much at all till on the higher doses which obviously cost more too. So I’m worried Pills won’t work for me.

Im really torn. But I need to do something as I’m gaining not loosing. I think about food pretty much all the time, my energy levels are at an all time low, probably diet related and I’m rapidly loosing mobility thanks to osteoarthritis which is definitely made worse by my weight. My mental health isn’t good at the moment either. I’m in a cycle of eating because I’m depressed but the depression gets worse the more I eat/loose mobility.

Ive tried most of the gimmicky alternatives like “kind” patches, supplements etc but they don’t seem to do anything.

Sorry this turned into a bit of an emotional outburst 🙈

Cheesecake53 · Yesterday 13:40

@MummySharkDoodoododoo did you check the discounts on https://monj.co.uk/discount-mounjaro-price-list/ ? A 2.5mg pen is currently £87.90. All pharmacies on this site are GPhC registered.

JuggedHare · Yesterday 17:40

Hope everyone has had a good day.

I am home from work, DP cooking dinner and I'm hungry but not ravenous. For the best part of the day I've really not thought about food at all, but have been sure to eat what I planned to:

FF Yoghurt (pot), apple, banana
6 almonds
Quorn salad
Wholewheat pasta (125g) with chickpeas

According to Nutracheck I'll be ending the day on 862 calories and 72g of protein.

Not sure if it's just a placebo situation going on which is causing the suppression or actually the MJ. Seems too good to be true!

I don't want to be under 100g of protein tomorrow, or 1200 calories. I've got spin in the morning and that's a big energy burner!

ChapterFifty · Yesterday 18:39

Evening everyone!

It looks like we started at virtually the same time @JuggedHare! I’m also tracking on nutracheck.

I’m not quite sure how im feeling at the moment. I don’t feel like anything has changed but i do feel a bit different if that makes sense?? I think im just hyper aware that ive had the jab so over thinking everything. I haven’t been hugely hungry today but im so paranoid about side effects ive been really mindful of what im eating, ive had

scrambled egg and a small slice of wholemeal toast
slice of chicken and raspberries
small jacket potato, veg and prawns

calories are coming in at about 662 so dill gave a cup of tea and some nuts now as I am feeling a bit hungry. I’m also under on protein and fibre so need to make more of an effort with that.

How has everybody else’s first day/days gone?

llareggub · Yesterday 19:52

I’m ok now thanks but struggling with how much I weigh physically. My wegovy is arriving tomorrow but I’m going to start on Friday night I think. I’m quite nervous!

I was really nervous as well. I actually still am as I know it takes a while for any side effects to surface!

If it offers any reassurance then actually taking the jab was really easy and painless, I had a good nights sleep and have been fine all day and feeling good and very positive at the moment!

ThisPinkPlayer · Yesterday 20:12

Hi could I join please . Just collected my ozempic jabs and starting on Saturday ( going out Friday night ) . I’ve about 3 stone to loose mainly around my tummy ! Been ill this year with heart issues and my cardiologist recommended I start so here I am.
plan to eat cleanly , dairy free and no red meat ! I’m on statins for HHC. Plan to try get more exercise in and start some light resistance.
I too am nervous of reactions as have a dodgy tummy sometimes .
excited though to begin this journey.

JuggedHare · Today 11:55

@ChapterFifty - nice to be in the same place! I feel the same as in different but not different.

That said, I am definitely experiencing suppression, but so far no side effects. Had a wholemeal pitta with 3 eggs in it after the gym earlier, and I struggled (just) to finish it. Drinking 2l water and a couple of peppermint teas a day.

I am still aiming for 1200 cals/100g protein every day - today is coming in at 1115 cals/95 protein so better than yesterday.

So far, so good...

FluentAquaMoose · Today 13:35

I'm struggling with food today. So far I've managed a few cups of ordinary tea, a coffee (from coffee man) with some of the Nutrition Geeks Collogen, half a bottle of Peanut Butter Chocolate Huel, and just had half a small tub of fat free cottage cheese and some chicken pieces and I'm full - uncomfortably full.

I'm shattered as I've not been sleeping well so I've re-started taking my HRT today plus I'm still on pain relief from a surgical tooth extraction the other week.
