Loving wegovy - 4 weeks in

Just wanted to share my experience as I was keen to read about others before I started.

My BMI when I started was classed as high. I was 11 st 8 and am 5 foot 7. So not very overweight but had steadily put on over a stone due to perimenopause and had tried gym, calorie deficiency, high protein but found it was a constant slog and 2 pounds might come off one week, then be back the next - the scales were not shifting, and I was concerned I was just going to gain weight year on year.

I didn't think anyone would prescribe me WLI, I thought I needed a higher bmi. However a friend started WLI via medexpresd and was a similar BMI to me.

After careful thought I decided to go for it. I turn 50 this year and really want to turn myself round. I completed the form, did a basic video consultation and was sent 0.25 weekly dose within a couple of days.

I wanted to start after my holiday so put it in the fridge, then took first dose a couple of weeks later.

I wasn't sure I'd done the first one right as I panicked and didn't count to 6 while injecting! However it seemed to work and I definitely had less appetite. Over the four weeks the lack of appetite was noticeable. Basically you feel much fuller from your meals - I believe because it slows down your digestion.

I've had no side effects. I was worried about it causing tummy trouble but it'd actually helped my issue where I'd have to dash to the loo in the morning for an urgent poo.

After 4 weeks ive lost 8 pounds which I think is a sensible pace and was unthinkable just a few weeks ago. I'm about to start month 2. Medexpress say they have a hard stop of a bmi of 21. I doubt I'll got that far, I'd be happy to be 10.5 stone, and thrilled to be 10.

So overall I'm really pleased with the results and would recommend to anyone struggling to shift the weight.

Thanks for sharing.

Similar to you and have wegovy I the fridge ready for Monday. I've held off until I am WFH for the week just in case of symptoms.
I'm excited to get started. I train 3 times a week and want to up that a little when I get started and when it's a bit cooler.

As an aside on the BMI of 21. Mine is 23. I have visible abs and a six pack as I’ve managed to gain muscle. So it’s possible to keep on losing fat but to increase muscle and stay without the guidelines.

Just spotted replies to my thread. There's nothing as intriguing as a deleted reply is there?! I wonder what they said.

Now on week 6 and I've not lost weight since week 4 but at least Ive not put any on.

Also I had a terrible incident when I thought I deserved a Danish pastry. Three hours after eating I had immediate diarrhea. Luckily I was at home but had to cancel my trip to the swimming pool. Thank god I hadn't booked a morning swim. Lesson learned - do NOT eat highly fat food.
