Starting mounjaro this evening and a little nervous

I have had mounjaro in my fridge for a week now, I had to wait for the needles to be sent as they missed them from my original order, but they arrived yesterday. I plan to inject this evening before bed.

I am nervous about a few things, the injecting itself, doing something wrong, the side effects. I wasn’t nervous until today! I thought I would be ok as I have been fine and have been so excited to get started until now that it has become real.

I need some sort of encouragement/ reassurance from those who have done it before, any tips or advice would be much appreciated!

Me and dh have been using it for over a year and it’s been amazing. The needle is tiny and honestly does not hurt. We jab in our tummy. Just alternate the site weekly. Good luck. We watched YouTube videos before we started and were nervous but we are pros now 😉

Have you seen how tiny the needles are? You won’t feel a thing. I always jab just before bed. I still remember waking up the first morning and being flabbergasted at how the food noise had simply disappeared.

Good luck.

I just started on Friday and I was very nervous. The injection didn’t hurt as the needle is so thin. Nothing like an injection at the doctors.

i wasn’t hungry for the first few days at all but made sure i ate three meals a day. Eat basic food but not spicy or fatty and you will be ok. I ate porridge for breakfast with fruit, sushi or a small sandwich for lunch and last night was salmon and rice for dinner. Drink lots of water.

this is the first morning I actually feel hungry.

good luck. You will be fine.

The needles are tiny, I don't feel them at all. Make sure you drink plenty of water. I drink weak squash as I don't like tap water and to keep buying bottled is such a waste. Avoid food that is too fatty and spicy to start with, as that can give you an upset stomach. Introduce it slowly until you know if you can handle it. I have no issues with either. Can happily have a curry or burger without side effects. Talking of which, the only side effect I've had is constipation. I take lactulose when it does happen. Available by asking for it at the pharmacy. I prefer this than Laxido. Don't worry, and enjoy your journey. Good Luck!

I have been on it 18 months now & have lost 150lbs. It's the best thing I have done.
Like people say the needle is tiny so you wont feel it. Also move the place you jab so find where is best for you.
The first few weeks I struggled to eat & found side effects was worse it i didnt eat so try to eat small bits even when you dont feel like it. I also found drinking alot helps.

Good luck!

Good luck! As others have said, you might want to avoid fatty or spicy food until you get a handle on how you will respond to it. I found the suppression and loss of food noise very strange to start with, and initially wasn’t eating much at all, so kept chocolate milk in the fridge for if I was feeling a bit wobbly (people will tell you to shovel down all manner of protein-filled shakes etc, but I can’t bear the claggy texture of any of it.) I found sticking to three meals a day, even if they were pretty small to start with, helped, but everyone is different. I hope you have a really positive experience - I’ve lost about 104lbs and it has been completely life changing.

There will be a leaflet in the box with step by step instructions and pictures. It's really easy to follow. My friend found a video on YouTube and used that instead the first few times.
I got the Shotsy app which keeps track of when I jab and shows an interesting chart of how much is in my system each day. It also reminds me to jab and suggests which site to use each time.
