Has anyone had a horrible time on MJ?

I’m on week three and it’s progressively getting worse- I’m currently on holiday with my family and can’t eat at all (yesterday I had two crackers and an apricot!!)

I responded immediately to my first ever dose and felt sick that day but it hasn’t previously been this bad. I don’t know if it’s possible I have some kind of bug as well as I’m getting cold sweats.

I just feel so silly that I’ve ruined our family holiday in my pursuit of losing some weight. Was just wondering if anyone out there had a bad time on it?

My aunt is on a waiting list to have a rare progressive eye condition associated with WLIs investigated. I wouldn’t risk it after her experience (although am not obese).

Katerina do you mind me asking if your aunt was on Mounjaro or Wegovy?

Just to clarify.. you took less than 2.5mg for four months and lost weight?

Correct. I’ve lost 2 stone over 4 months. About 10lbs of that was in the first week when 2.5mg knocked me for six. So you could say 18lbs in 3.75 months since. Not massively fast, but really steady. Main thing is that I’ve managed my anxiety.

after the first week, I went down to 15 clicks of a 2.5mg pen, and have built up from there. I’m just coming into a full dose now.

My optometrist told me that link has been disproven.

The link between MJ and the eye condition has not been disproven, it remains in the side effects list. It's very rare, but still a possible side effect. I say this as someone taking MJ, not a hater of it.

Theres a huge class action going on in the US at the moment for this, which the pharma companies will probably get away with as its listed as a side effect for the meds. If youre taking medication like this you really need to research and weigh up the benefits v the potential side effects.

@XiCi "If youre taking medication like this you really need to research and weigh up the benefits v the potential side effects." Isn't that exactly what every normally competent person would do when considering taking a prescription medication?

There isn't anything for the pharmaceutical companies to "get away with". It is listed as a side effect, it is very very rare. The risk increases from very very rare to ever so slightly less very very rare. In comparison to the very real risks and actual impacts for people of obesity. The litigious nature of the US and their very commercial and private insurance driven healthcare system are very different to the UK and other countries. The fact that lawyers are making money out of these medications in the US is not a surprise and happens frequently. It doesn't necessarily indicate a genuine issue with the medication.

I have found injection site impacts. I’m a super responder and only ended up on 5 for 2 weeks, the rest of my weight loss was on 1.25 or 2.5. However I inject in my thighs now as noted that injection in the stomach hit harder and faster, thigh or arm was slower and more consistent.

i hope you do ok

What class action law suit is this @XiCi? I can't see any consumer class action lawsuits listed against either Novo Nordisk or Eli Lilly at the moment.
