15mg and static for months ….

I lost 3 stone over 9 months, reached maximum dose and have pretty much been maintaining on 15mg for 6 months. Ideally I’d like to lose another 7lbs.

I’ve never had much suppression , and the snacking has crept back in. I’m 5f3 and 9 stone but carrying a lot of stomach weight still. Shoujd I resign myself to this weight and start titraying down? I feel like I’m wasting money now. Also wondering if I’d have more will power if know not relying on mj.

I’m active, gym 3x weekly and strength training. Average 1500 cals.
I could try to lower cals for final push (had a few stresses which hasnt helped) but I’ve been saying this that for 6 months.

Maybe research having a reset break?

Thank you - I’ll look only this.

Lower carb higher protein is what works for me to lose the belly fat and weight. 1500 could be your maintenance figure depending on your height too.

HappyWineDay · 09/06/2026 09:35

1500 cals can easily mean you’re not in deficit unfortunately

Perianth · 09/06/2026 10:59

I was listening the the Fat Science podcast earlier and one of the doctors there was saying they had seen a small number of patients who plateaued or started to regain a little on 15mg and they’d had some success at restarting weight loss by dropping down a dose, despite that seeming counterintuitive.

They also recommend something called ‘mechanical eating’ or ‘eating on the clock’ where your food intake is planned out in detail, including timings, and you follow it without thinking about whether you are hungry or not. This can be used to ensure you are getting all the nutrition you need, and helps to break disordered eating habits.

Finally, they emphasised the importance of good sleep, with a significant amount of it happening before midnight.

The podcast is really interesting - worth a listen if you have time.

Best of luck in kickstarting a further loss for you.

9 stone at 5ft3 is fine. Id think you need to look into body recomposition rather than weight loss now. I am 5ft4 and hover just under 9 stones. I have tapered from 10mg to 5mg weekly and upped calories slowly to 1750 a day. Gym 3-4 times a week. Sedentary desk job. I lost 5 st 10 pounds on mounjaro and been maintaining since January. My plan is to reduce body fat and build some muscle so will use measurements and not focus so much on tje scale now

I sadly think that’s the case.

1500 does sound like a lot for your height if attempting to lose weight. I hope you find a solution to suit you.

This is really interesting. Thanks so much. I’ll definitely listen and I was thinking of dropping to 10mg.

I totally missed your height in your first post but just to let you know, I'm 5ft 3 and my tdee to maintain is 1470 at 8st 11lbs. I know you exercise but to lose you will most likely have to drop a good few hundred. I was eating around 800-1000 a day to lose, 800 cals on non working sat at home all day type days!

MeridaBrave · 09/06/2026 21:30

I’m 5 4 at 9 stone 10, and I have a 6 pack. Scales say 18% bodyfat. I’d suggest working on building muscle rather than worry about lower calories to do a body recomp.

What is the strength training? Is the weight heavy enough? It’s hard to gain muscle in a deficit. My view would be to spend say 6-9 months focussing on increasing the weight you are lifting and eating 120g of protein each day and then having another push to lose some fat.

Squirrelchops1 · 09/06/2026 21:33

Your BMI is 22.3. You're smack in the middle of healthy.

That’s very impressive.

I know 9 stone sounds ok but I’m v small framed and carrying weight on my stomach.

Weights possibly not enough - 8-10kg for squats. 4kg for arms. 20-30kg on the machines. Am building up though. Had a couple of PT sessions.

Honestly I’ve let the snacks creep in. I injected 10mg this morning and I’m going to lower to 1200 and re focus.

20kg good for a shoulder press machine. Leg press aim is 2xBW. Abductor and adductor aim is bodyweight etc. I squat with 80kg bar. I think issue is that you are under muscled rather than too heavy. And building muscle is hard.

Daineee · 11/06/2026 22:24

Firstly, well done on losing 3 stone, that's an incredible achievement! 🎉 I'm using Mounjaro too, and I've found there are times where the scale slows down even when I'm sticking to my routine. I've learned to focus on maintaining healthy habits rather than chasing every last pound, and eventually things started moving again. 💛

Thank for taking the time to reply. I’m going to start increasing weights. Also increased my running pace. Running always helps but logically know it really doesn’t help that much …

Yes. Increase weight. Once you can do 12 reps increase the weight doesn’t matter if only manage 5-6 reps after the increase. Keep a log of what you doing I like the hevy app. Muscle gain is slow, from here is like a 5 year project. Also need to eat enough protein.

I was static for about six months after losing 21kg and then randomly started losing again, on 12.5mg. Almost like my body reset. It’s made me focus harder on losing the final 5kg (not sure the official BMI target is realistic for my frame) and titrating right down.

RoseField1 · 20/06/2026 10:15

I think if you're maintaining at that weight then that's your weight. Losing another half stone might be possible but would you keep it off? Probably not. I would start working on titrating down if I were you. I've been doing it by reducing by one click a week only, I'm down from 15 to 9.5mg without gaining any weight so far.
