Is a weight loss plateau after three months on Mounjaro common?

I’ve been on mounjaro since the start of march. I have lost about 2 stone so far. I’m on 5mg. I feel like am in a plateau at the moment and haven’t lost for about 2 weeks. Hoping the standstill doesn’t continue for long. I feel like I am getting enough suppression and don’t really want to go up a dose. Wondering if it is common to plateau after about 3 months and what people do to get the weight loss moving again. Maybe my metabolism has just adjusted to eating less. I’m eating around 1400 calories I think.

2 weeks isn't a plateau. There is no specific pattern to the rate of weight loss on mounjaro, it's totally individual to the person, but don't stress about 2 weeks, that's no time. Have you adjusted your calorie intake to match your lower body weight?
ETA I read your last line again - you aren't counting calories? That won't help. And the metabolism doesn't adjust to lower calories in that way, if you're in a deficit you will lose weight.

A 2 stone loss in around 3 months is considered a fairly fast rate of weight loss (average is around 2lb a week), so having a couple of weeks of no losses is entirely normal as your body is constantly adjusting.

I’d only call it a plateau if you’ve lost nothing after about 5 weeks and that’s unlikely if you’re still eating in a calorie deficit.

You will have weeks where you don’t lose, that’s perfectly normal, it is however worth just doing a quick check in every now and then:

  • are you drinking enough water
  • are you getting enough sleep
  • have you readjusted your calorie allowance to account for your lower weight and therefore reduced TDEE/calorie needs

changes in hormones, activity level, hydration (heat can affect this), stress level….. can all affect weight loss so it would only really be considered a plateau if it lasts about 4 weeks.

I’ve had a plateau too on Mounjaro through the programme 😊 It happens sometimes. I just go back to basics with meals and my walks and try not to overthink it. It usually settles again 👍

I’ve felt the same at times on Mounjaro through the programme 😊 Early on I wasn’t sure it was doing much, but it did take a bit of time to notice the change with cravings and portion sizes. Worth sticking with it a bit longer if you can 👍
