Hi

I have been on MJ almost a month now, I took my 4th jab of my 2.5 pen yesterday

I have had minimal side affects apart from muscle aches for one day after first jab, tiredness and was sick once in my second week as think I ate something that didn't agree with me

I jab on a Monday as I wanted to be able to enjoy my weekends still as I socialise alot on weekends which usually involves food

i lost 5lbs my first week, second week I gained 1lb and since then I've been losing and gaining the same 2lbs so I've probably lost in total around 6lbs with the majority of that being the first week which tbh I am quite disappointed in , i have still been in a calorie deficit i use nutracheck and have done for years and I drink 2 litres min water a day

I feel fuller quicker and have totally gone off some things I used to love like wine and Coke Zero and even tea I have not had any of that for almost a month , i have still drank alcohol at the weekends when out with friends and eaten out but nowhere near as much food and drink as I would have before the jab

the week I was sick I didn't eat much at all and that was the week I gained the 1lb!!

also the problem is I jab and weigh ona. Monday and as I'm eating the most at weekends when I weigh on the Monday the scales are showing a gain which is very demotivating

I know some people say 2.5 doesn't do much but I know people who stayed at that dose and lost over two stone and I wanted to stay as low as possible

I only have two stone to lose, I did calorie counting before this and lost 3 stone but put a stone back on.

I need to order my next pen and my question now is do I go up to 5mg which i didn't really want to do yet or do I jab later in the week to have more suppression on weekends ?

Thanks for the advice I have decided to go up to 5mg and I will be changing my jab day .. but just to be clear when I say I eat more and drink on weekends i mean compared to the week but I am still calorie counting and in a deficit even on weekends .. I have been doing calorie counting for two years using nutracheck i used to weigh on a Saturday and have Saturday as my cheat day and get straight back on it Sunday I did this from the very start this worked for me and I lost 3 stone but needed to jab as it became stagnant .. I have been doing the same whilst on the jab but still eating and drinking less even on the Saturday as I do get full quick and when I say drink I literally mean a few drinks . I have cut out snacking completly even on weekends so I am disappointed at my loss

and tbh no I refuse to be miserable and never be able to enjoy myself and socialise and go for meals out at the weekend after working all week for the sake of two stone so if that is what the jab does then I won't continue to take it

i had a consultation today and they do not think it is anything to do with the jab day and advised me to go up a dose

I jab on a wednesday so i can have a reasonable weekend, eat out if i want to and i do drink alcohol at the weekend. I lost 80 pounds on mounjaro and didn't ever hit a plateau so i don't believe you have to give everything up.
Ultimately its calories in calories out and i stayed in a deficit so it worked. I got my best results at 10mg though so it may be you do need a higher dose. I am maintaining on 5mg now and eating around 1700 calories a day (5ft4 female, sedentary job) with gym/home workout 5 times per week.

Miserable? People who don’t feel the need to get pissed when socialising are not miserable and unhappy but are probably happier overall, because we don’t rely on using alcohol as a crutch to socialise. We can still enjoy ourselves without the booze.

"I know some people say 2.5 doesn't do much but I know people who stayed at that dose and lost over two stone and I wanted to stay as low as possible"

Also worth pointing out that no matter how much you might want to stay low, everyone reacts differently to this drug and there is no guarantee you will be a super-responder. 2.5 is not considered a therapeutic dose and most people do need to increase their dose beyond 2.5 to get the desired effect.
