Is it normal to be able to eat this much on 15mg?

I’ve been on Mounjaro for just over a year and have lost just over 6 stone. I’m delighted and have done it steadily and sensibly.
I’ve responded well to Mounjaro and have no ill effects. Suppression could be better but it dulls the food noise in my head.
Today I had a blow-out lunch. It was also a late lunch, so I was hungry. I am now pleasantly full, but was able to eat the following comfortably (in one sitting):

half a large baguette with tuna mayo and sweetcorn
a protein yogurt
an orange
a packet of lentil chips (crisps)
a Skinny Whip bar
a biscuit

Surely this can’t be right? Confused
Believe it or not, I have changed my lifestyle and eating habits. But just fancied a treat lunch today, after having a hard-going week in both my working and personal lives. It’s unlikely that I will eat again today, other than perhaps something very light. The lunch was 3 hours ago and I’m on 15mg.

How long have you been on 15mg? What is your current BMI? I think those 2 things matter. Was it half an individual sized baguette? With no breakfast and something light for dinner would balance it out. You could always work out how many calories consumed.

Depends on the day. Day before my injection is due and having had nothing else all day I can manage that (also on 15mg) injection day or having had breakfast and lots of fluids then nope couldn’t have ate half it. It’s very diffeeebr day to day what I can eat and does come down to fluid intake as well for me. The more hydrated I am, the less I can physically eat no matter the day.

I don’’t think it’s ‘normal’ to ever eat all of that in one sitting. I suppose it depends on what elae you ate that day.

I have been on it two years. It does wear off sadly.

I’ve been on 15mg for months. Ideally I’d like to lose 2 stone more. My next injection is due over the weekend, but I could eat that on any day.

I couldn't ever eat that as and I never went above 2.5, the baguette alone would make me vom😂, I lost near 6 stone am off it now and still eat tiny portions.

My max was 10, but yes I can push through, the drugs made me feel full not have a desire to over eat, and no cravings, work perfectly, lost 6 and a half stone, but yes I could always push through if I chose, I simply very seldom did chose,

You already know it's a marathon, not a sprint. Today you had a late lunch that was bigger than you would usually eat, because you were hungry and felt like it, but it's just one meal. You won't have the same tomorrow. I have weeks which are wall-to-wall chicken salad, then every now and then I have a week of Cookie Monster-style biscuit eating. It's not the end of the world. Get back to drinking lots of water, eating lots of protein and it will all be fine.

I'm on 15mg and I think it can be normal. Hunger levels, fullness levels, they vary day to day. We are all different and we all have different calorie requirements.

Yesterday all I could manage was 500g of chicken & veg soup. Today I've been like the hungry caterpillar and eaten 3 pork loin steaks, a full head of broccoli, pak choi, green beans, 1 salted caramel brownie, 1 chicken breast in katsu sauce, half a tin of lentils, and some olives and feta.

I track every single calorie and I find that, despite having some extra hungry days, my weekly calorie average is right on track! So some days I eat huge portions or graze all day and others I can only manage one tiny meal. It just all balances out.

I've lost 13st in 14 months (and now I'm 10st and size 8) eating this way so it works for me. I try not to worry too much about how others manage it and what they eat.

Don’t be ridic. A baguette and crisps for lunch with some yoghurt and fruit for pudding with a biscuit chaser is not outside the realms of normal lunch for normal people.

Oh, and on MN, even before WLIs were a thing, there has always been posters who declare a full tin of soup is too much for them or only a giant of a man could eat a full sandwich etc.

Don't stress about how other people eat, just do what works for you. If you're still losing then crack on, if you're maintaining or gaining then try and make different choices. But sometimes you just need a baguette and some crisps!

I've been on it 2 years, lost 6 stone. I can eat like a horse on my "cheat day"... the appetite suppression has worn off...its all strict calorie counting now.

I lost fairly slowly compared to others as I am type 2 Diabetic and insulin resistant. I receive Mounjaro via the nhs along with Metformin. Now my BMI has dropped I am only allowed 5mg.

After a recent depressive episode I actually gained 7lbs!! (Comfort eating).

Bit surprised by friends and family that said"oh that's a good thing because you had gone too far if Im honest".

Can't win. Need to loose another half stone/stone to be in healthy BMI.

So yes, the effects wear off eventually but as a diabetic treatment it certainly controls my blood sugars a lot better.

But it’s not just any yoghurt. It’s a protein yoghurt and 2 biscuis. The only people who I know who eat that much at lunch time have manual jobs.

Strandas · Today 10:14

I can eat way more than that! I don’t think I get the appetite suppression like others do. I’m on the maximum dose and the other night I had cocktails, lots of wine, three course meal and felt absolutely fine. I try and skip breakfast so I only have two meals a day.

InfoSecInTheCity · Today 10:21

Right from the start and until now I have the ability to eat as much as I choose to, I could if I wanted sit and eat plate after plate at a buffet but I don’t NEED to. I can eat a normal amount of food and objectively realise I’ve had enough, I’m no longer hungry and stop without feeling hard done by or still hungry. What you ate isn’t a huge amount of food, it’s a perfectly normal late lunch.

Twasasurprise · Today 10:24

How big was the large baguette, as there can be a few different interpretations?
