Second week on Wegovy and feeling awful, can I stop?

It's my second week on Wegovy and I feel absolutely awful. I feel nauseous and weak all the time, and I can barely function. I've been close to passing out at work multiple times. I really regret starting these jabs. What would happen if I just stop taking it? I have 2 doses left for this month but I'm tempted to just bin it. It is currently day 10. I feel like I can't go on like this

You can just stop if you have only taken 2x of the lowest dose.

Wickedlittledancer · 26/05/2026 18:26

You just stop, even if you were on the highest dose for years you can just stop/

KrazyKatty · 26/05/2026 18:41

Yes, you can just stop anytime.
Presumably you’re not actually obese but just want to lose a few pounds?

Yes I was slightly overweight but not obese which is why I regret getting it in the first place

Why would you assume that? Are seriously obese people less likely to suffer side effects than those who are not obese?

It’s more that people who are not seriously overweight are less likely to find the cost benefit of side effects v weight loss is worth it to them, when they know they can still lose weight the usual way by eating fewer calories, but that this approach might take a bit longer.

Depending on the severity of the side effects, an awful lot of WLI users who are morbidly obese will try to push through and do anything to quell the food noise and constant urge to eat. Reading endless posts on here from desperate people trying to manage their symptoms and keep going, confirms it. I’m 4 stones down with maybe 2 more to go so I totally understand that mentality!

I also find this true. Nothing against the OP. The nausea can be awful. I actually still have stomach issues after 10 months but I had 4 stone to lose so ultimately it’s been worth it. Best wishes to the OP.

I totally understand. I think I'll go back to eating in a calorie deficit and hitting the gym more even if it takes longer to shed the weight. The nausea is giving me ptsd from my awful pregnancies and it's really starting to affect my mental health!

Huh? I’m on here a lot, I read all the monthly threads there is not endless people lol. Are you maybe thinking of the individual threads where someone asks, and ignoring the hundreds and hundreds on the monthly threads?

OK, I understand.

I also understand the desperation which would get someone to live with the side effects, having been over 22 stone at my peak. It didn’t lead me to WLI, but it has led me to give up sugar, crisps and eating between meals. Never thought I would, or could, but I have.
