What do you eat if WLI suppresses hunger but you want to keep healthy?

Ive been toying with the idea of starting WLI for a while now. I will need to be prescribed off label, Im only 1 stone overweight but I do have high cholesterol , high blood pressure - neither of which have shifted even though I have lost 2 stone with diet and exercise - maintained for 3 years now

The maintaining and not able to drop anymore is the reason Im looking more and more towards WLI

The other reason, Im an active Alkie. If I dont pick. up I dont have to have another, but if I drink one Im drinking the bottle - Scotch

So the added bonus of being put off the thought of taking a drink is really swaying me, and I know trials are being undertaken now

One thing that Im not sure about, how do you manage to get enough nutrition in you so your body isnt falling apart, if you have no appetite for food?

I average 1400 cals a day, get 20k steps in , cycle and am looking to find a pilates group but that's about it I know Im not going to do weights and gym work - Ive too much going on to commit

The total appetite suppression is normally temporary unless you chase it by going up the doses quickly.

I had total suppression to start with, but it didn’t last long. I’m now in a sweet spot where I can easily resist, but eat a healthy amount.

Re alcohol, I drank too much, and have found it really helped my cravings for the rest of the bottle of wine. I feel like Mounjaro has given me the power to choose and be restrained without being all or nothing for both food and wine.

I guess if your appetite was totally suppressed for a prolonged period of time you could reduce the dose down.

I keep a food diary to make sure I eat enough and also eat the correct things. I'm currently eating a lot of chicken and rice with vegetables type dinners and having a smoothie to top up if I find myself short of what I should be having at the end of the day. I'm finding that I don't feel hunger in the traditional sense , but I do start to feel sick if I consume too little.

I used to be like this and I had a lot of protein shakes and puddings yogurts and a good multivitamin

Just to add , make sure you drink lots of water if you do decide to use wli , it helps reduce nausea that may happen in the hours after your dose.

I have a bit of Greek yoghurt and some fruit for breakfast. For lunch a couple of crackers with cheese, and for dinner, a small portion of whatever we are eating as a family. (Am taking multivitamin, collagen, omega3, D3 and magnesium, as I always have done. )Seems to fuel me to work full time and do a bit of exercise.

If your plate consisted of Meat/chicken/fish/Egg/Mushroom / Tofu plus veggies and potatoes/rice/bulgar wheat/ couscous then you need to eat in that order. Protein first than complex carbs then carbs

At the moment I eat perhaps twice a day

Berries and greek yoghurt with a measured portion of Bio&Me, then a platful of veg ( well not quite but loads ) and protein - chicken, fish, turkey , and complex carbs/fibre - grains or beans

Or Ill skip the yoghurt and berries because not hungry then eat something like an slice of dark rye topped with salads, pickles and tinned fish

Unfortunately that works for maybe 4 days, then I'll be hitting the sugar. - hence I just cant shift this last stone, Diet fatigue , although I try my best not to see it as a diet, rather a healthy eating routine.

I guess after so many decades of fatty, sugary foods I miss them still and have gorge days. Not that Im going mad, but easily hitting the 2K calorie mark , like alcohol, as long as I dont tough the "bad" foods, Im ok. Minute I reach for them its like a switch going on
