Can I safely consider WLI with type 1 diabetes/lie on the questionnaire?

I’m type one diabetic and have always been told I can’t use WLI, and have asked for a referral to my diabetic specialist to discuss taking them off label but have got an appointment with them in 8 months time!!! I hate how I look and feel and need change now.

I think people lie (or omit info) all the time on the questionnaires. I know someone who used AI on her submission photo to make her look bigger.
Other than being diabetic, I fit most criteria - BMI is 39, sleep apnea, depression. I also have had similar issues to lots of others - full time working mum to a toddler, lack of sleep, lack of time, hard to maintain willpower when I want to faceplant sugar all the time etc etc.

Could I just decide to omit the fact I’m diabetic on the questionnaires and see how I get on? I’m slightly terrified of taking it and in my head I will use it as a kick start to weight loss rather than long term (even though I know that’s not what it’s for…!) as I’m already on so much medication that adding another into the mix long term feels scary.

Anyone else done this?

I have been on mounjaro since December, type one diabetic, prescribed by my diabetes specialist on the NHS.
It is harder, not going to lie. Having to balance a reduced appetite and slower digestion with my insulin levels. Weight loss has been a lot slower than for non-diabetics. I lost 8 kilos in the first 4 months. My peers on the weight loss thread are talking in stones!

Not me but someone i know is type 1 and her diabetes nurse put her on them. Think you might need more monitoring, not too sure. She has found the weight loss very slow though.

A family member has T1 and is on WLI prescribed by the diabetic nurse. It's worth trying that route because the support is really important.

That’s what I said 😁
