Mounjaro maintenance.

I have lost 5 stone and am happy with my weight - I have been maintaining since Christmas.
I have been buying a 10mg pen but using 7.5mg and golden dose - I also inject every 10 days, sometimes slightly longer instead of the weekly dose.

I am currently with Oushk but have never told them I am maintaining rather than loosing - I feel I should go on their official maintenance plan but it makes me nervous to officially switch to maintenance - has anyone officially gone over to a maintenance plan and regreted it x

I went on Oushk’s maintenance plan this year. I only lasted a month then switched providers but that was down to Oushk messing me around once too often. I’m not on a maintenance plan now as the pharmacy I use don’t have one despite continuing to prescribe in maintenance.

If you intend to stick with Oushk then don’t bother paying for the maintenance assessment and carry on as you are. The maintenance discount is only £5-7 more than their regular discount in any case

Mysticmaiden · 04/05/2026 09:21

What is it that you are concerned about?
I'm with oushk on maintenance and have been since july 25. I've also changed my goal and lost at least a further stone since and dropped from bmi 25.4 to bmi 22 since starting it. It's not restrictive at all and you can also change your dose if you need to. You get £25 a pen off too, used to be better value with the free postage but thats gone.

Kitt1 · 04/05/2026 12:08

Surely if you’re taking 7.5mg every 10 days, you’re getting high suppression then it’s dropping off a long way until you boost it again?

How has it affected your appetite over the 10 days?

Why not try taking a smaller dose but more frequently to reduce the massive peaks and troughs of MJ in your system? Say 5mg every 7 days then gradually reduce to 3.5, then 2.5mg?

WeAllHaveWings · 04/05/2026 12:26

Not sure there is much to "regret", it is £5 to switch onto a plan and you get that back with the small additional discount.

The biggest "risk" is your BMI gets too low to be accepted by another provider if you do change your mind later, but that could happen with any provider.

I recently switched from Oushk to another maintenance provider for a few reasons - mostly aired by other customers on their own chat platform - causing me to lose confidence in them. I feel they have been exposed, over reacted and floundered since their failed GPhC inspection and enforcement notice, putting in place overly complex and unnecessary processes. Their focus on brand building on social media and branded products is just not what I am looking for in professional health care.

Aussierelative · 04/05/2026 14:38

I am on a maintenance plan with Swift Doc and have been with them for about 6 or 7 months. [Previously Oushk] I have found them excellent in all respects, helpful on queries and responsive. They are very positive about maintenance and provided me with really sound advice 1 to 1. They are quite new but have passed their first GPhC inspection recently.

Bati · 05/05/2026 18:33

I was worried incase I decided I wanted to loose more weight and they wouldn't let me move back - my BMI is currently 25.
Originally I wanted to get to a BMI 23 but many people around me have voiced that they think I should stop now, they think I will look ill if I loose more x

To be honest, I am only with Oushk as I know they do maintenance.
Who are other people with?

OUSHK maintenance has been awful for me. I didn’t buy a pen one month as I had so many golden doses and when I told them that they refused to prescribe me my 10mg “as they don’t condone that” and restarted me on 2.5mg.

as soon as I get back up to 10 I’m leaving for literally anyone else

Unfortunately all pharmacies would do this as it counts as a gap in treatment since the golden dose or split dosing is not following prescription guidelines, it's not specific to Oushk. I use a 10mg pen to dose 5mg but I keep buying a pen every 5 weeks, Oushk actually allow orders every 6 weeks which is more generous than other companies. There are a few now that are starting to allow split dosing but they are few and far between.

If you look at the www.monj.co.uk website they have a section for maintenance. Pharmulous, swift Dr and oushk are the more common maintenance pharmacies.

I think that’s what jealous people who like you being bigger say!! Or aunties. They’re the ones who tend to cluck when I lose weight 😂

I wouldn’t expect a BMI of 24 to make anyone look “ill”.

I’m using Cloud. They’re quite expensive but easy to order, quick delivery etc. My current BMI is 23.8. Planning to lose until BMI 20.5. They do maintenance.

I moved from oushk to swift Dr. Much better and not costing me a monthly fee. My BMI is 21.4

What does the Swift maintenance plan entail? I reached goal weight in Jan, managed to maintain until a few weeks ago - a spring holiday and little too much wine (and return of food noise) derailed that plan and I've put on 3kg :( I was on 5mg, tried to taper it down to 2.5mg and I'd start putting on weight again so I'd take it back up to 5mg. I might need some help with this!

I had a consultation with Swift in March i think it was. I stockpiled last August to avoid the price increase so hadn't purchased a pen since then. Was able to order 5mg and you get £10 off each order. They are very very quick to approve and dispatch so bear that in mind for delivery. You can choose DPD or royal mail.

ExplodingCarrots · 06/06/2026 17:23

@MrsMiagi which consultation did you book? Did you book a maintenance video call? I’m thinking of jumping ship from oushk and was wondering what consultation I’d need to book as a new customer .

Yes a maintenance video call. I had joined oushk maintemance then learned about swift on mumsnet. Saved the monthly fee! It was £30 but well worth it

ExplodingCarrots · 06/06/2026 20:16

@MrsMiagithank you . I checked their prices and swift is £223 for 7.5mg and oushk is £223 after the maintenance discount. So I’m going to pop over to swift as you get the £10 discount. Only a tenner saved but it’s still a saving .

Please don't listen to people who make comments like this. There have been many posters on here who have experienced similar (me included). People making comments like this usually have their own agenda and it's not you they're thinking about. It's about what you feel about yourself. Set your own goal and stick to it. A BMI of 25 is still considered overweight and a target of 23 was certainly not unreasonable.

Daineee · 11/06/2026 22:27

I completely understand why you're feeling nervous. Before Mounjaro I spent years losing weight and then putting it back on again, so maintenance felt quite scary to me too. What I've found helpful is focusing on the habits I've built rather than the number on the scales. If you've been maintaining since Christmas, that sounds like you've already established a routine that's working. Personally, I'd see that as a success rather than something to worry about.

Thanks for the kind message. But, I've only been maintaining while still on MJ - despite exercising everyday and eating healthy (with occasional wine/meals out). Have you managed to maintain without it?
