WeGovy is just GLP-1, whereas Mounjaro has another peptide (can’t remember what) as well, so a second mechanism of action. Hardly surprising it’s more effective overall, and effective for some of the people WeGovy doesn’t work for, as it has 2 mechanisms of action.
I have lost a lot of weight already by adopting an intermittent fasting low carb lifestyle, and addressing my compulsive eating. Not easy! But I do feel that I am on top of my dysfunctional eating, and therefore, this time, the weight I’ve lost will stay off. But I have bottomed out, with a BMI of 30. Would just love to get into the top of the healthy weight range, you know?
I was on a different GLP-1, Trulicity (dulaglutide) for type 2 diabetes, for 5 years. I did have some appetite suppression from that, which is why I think I will respond to WeGovy. And it’s cheaper…..
I’m looking to it to support me in a period of therapeutic fasting to get another 2.5 stone or so off. I keep on finding reasons not to do regular fasts, and I am pretty confident they would do the trick for me. And then I would hope to maintain by returning to low carb intermittent fasting. So I see WeGovy as a way to make fasting easier, for a number of months. The fasting is what will get the weight off.
Interesting that only one of the people who’ve responded has used the maximum dose of WeGovy, The others have had good results from lower doses, and one person said it didn’t work for them at all.
