Should I go back to 2.5 after side effects increased?

Hi all.

starting weight 88kg. BMI 31.2 + 2 weight related conditions
current weight 81.9kg BMI 29

I have lost 6kg after 8 shots of 2.5.
i did my first 3.33 shot (was scared to don5mg), and I have sulphur burps, nausea and diarrhoea.

Should I move back down to 2.5? Or should I give it a couple more weeks? I had similar side effects when I started 2.5.

I moved up as my nausea on 2.5 had got better and the weekly losses were slowing down!

Are they lasting all week or just for 24 hrs? I had those but it was at most 1-2 days and normally just when I first moved up. So I would give it a bit longer but in general only move up when it stops working/you don’t feel the effect of the meds. You don’t have to move up every 4 weeks. I’ve been on it 2 years and only made it to a maximum of 8mg because I do seem to be sensitive to gastro effects. For me it’s also really important to eat “cleanly” the day before injecting. That seems to make a big difference.

You could moving up in increments of 0.5mg?
3mg Is 36 clicks.

If you’re still losing around 0.5kg a week then you probably don’t need to move up yet.

Don’t be in a hurry to lose weight too quickly as you risk losing valuable bone density and muscle mass.

I took the injection Tuesday afternoon and I’m feeling rough still (nausea/gassy/loose stools).

if it lasts all week, I might just go back down and pay closer attention to my calories

I've found if I'm really careful with what and how I eat, it minimises side effects drastically.
I was regularly getting awful diarrhea and a bad stomach. I noted it seemed to be when I ate things quickly, in larger portions, or ate the wrong things. Fatty or sugary foods really set me off too. Maybe ride it out but for me the following helped:

  • eating slowly and stopping well before you feel full. If you feel ok, you can always eat a bit more after a pause. I've found making a smoothie and sipping on it throughout the morning is fine, however if I drink it all before I leave for work, I get diarrhoea.
  • reduce your portions when you start a new dose. Hunger goes up as you get used to it, so you can eat more. You need to adjust to smaller portions again once you go up a dose.
  • avoid fatty, strong flavoured or sugary foods unless in really small portions
  • ensure you're drinking plenty - I drink cordial and occasionally an electrolyte drink to help with hydration as I'm not feeling thirsty. You can feel shit if you're dehydrated.

I did step down a dose but the suppression wasn't strong enough, so the above approach has worked for me on a higher dose.
