Suspected gallstones and Wegovy-what to do?

So I took MJ for about 6 months last year. 2 stone lost. Remembered what it was like to actually care about what I looked like, felt confident again etc etc.
Stomach aches began in Dec. Re-visit to the GP today and they suggested gallbladder stones. Have felt physically sick at times, and also have associated pain in shoulder, burning sensation in stomach. Waiting for ultrasound at hospital.
Wait times for surgery, according to online research are insane. Some areas suggest months and months.
I started Wegovy again about 2 weeks ago (not yet suspecting the gallstones) and had planned to use this time round to actually conquer healthy eating (I didn’t do this last year, and wanted to try again to actually form some better ‘habits’).
Has anyone managed to:
-stop the jabs and just lost weight from a low fat diet (if it were this easy I would have done this in the first place!)
-continued with the jabs and used this to help access a low fat diet-helping lose weight, and reduce the symptoms of the gallstones.
Yet to have Donne this evening, and the small amount of suppression from the jabs means I’ll probably only have some low fat soup. This would definitely be a good outcome for the low fat diet I’m now meant to follow, but also wonder if I’m concocting a narrative in my head as it suits my goal?!
GP wasn’t very impressed about the jabs, said they had a lot of worries about them. In an ideal world, I wouldn’t use them, but 2 small kids with additional needs, single mum, it’s all just a bit much sometimes.
Would be interested to know anyone’s experience. Thanks.

Can you ask for your gallbladder to be removed?
It might be possible with keyhole surgery so that recovery time isn’t too long?

Lots of us have gallstones without realising it and weight loss can exacerbate them, unfortunately. Your GP obviously doesn’t understand much about metabolic health if (s)he’s not impressed!

Thanks. I’m hoping to have the scan done in 2-3 weeks, and will then request to have them removed.
It’s the wait time between now and potential removal and whether to continue to the jabs that is concerning.

The jabs can slow down contraction of the gallbladder (just like they slow down stomach emptying). The best way to release the bile so that it doesn’t become “stagnant” in the gallbladder and form stones is to eat regularly and not miss meals, with some fat at each meal. And keep well hydrated. However, it sounds as this (the fat) is causing you pain. So… sorry. I would stop them.

There is a link between weight loss and gall bladder problems, both a friend and I had to have gall bladder removed after following a very low calorie diet.
I would be tempted to give up the injections and follow a low fat diet. My attacks were always triggered by bread but it was always accompanied by half a pack of butter.
Good luck and if it is confirmed to be your gall bladder push to get it removed.

I had mine out before I started on wli. The surgeon told me to eat nothing with more than 3% fat per 100g while I was waiting for the op.
I was diagnosed after being admitted to A&E with an infected gallbladder so didn't have to wait for consultation time but it's long here - about 4 months. And the wait for the op on the NHS is minimum 9 months.

The decision may well be out of your hands as it will be a struggle to get anyone to prescribe to you with active gallstones. I did and mine were found incidentally and have never caused any issues. Good luck.

I have been on mounjaro for two years prior to starting had an ultrasound for something else no gallstones then. But recently a scan found several gallstones but no inflammation in the gallbladder. No symptoms I don't think or if there are it's mild.

My GPs have been helpful and not judgemental. I discussed it and going to stop mounjaro for now.

I've lost five stone in the two yrs and taken it slowly to try and prevent this problem.
