Oushk maintenance - they want me to restart at 2.5mg despite having been on 15mg for months. Very stressed.

Would appreciate any help/advice please. I started on Mounjaro in late Oct 24 with Med express. Went up through the doses and lost weight happily. Changed to Oushk towards the summer as I was getting below the BMI for a new starter and wanted to know I'd have maintenance options. Generally was ordering with a few weeks to spare so would sometimes have a pen or even two unopened ahead.

Got to the time when the price change came in an suddenly found I was having an absolute nightmare ordering. Put through requests with both oushk and med express as it was so difficult I thought I might not get any and got three pens then creating something of a stockpile. By November I still had 4 pens unopened in the fridge (was on 15mg by then as had been over a year. Approaching but not at goal). Had a maintenance consult (I was about 10lb above target) who said stick with the 15mg weekly and get back to them once at goal. I queried having problems reordering as there was likely to be a long gap. Was told to photograph my stockpile with a date and upload and this should avoid problems. I did this.

Jump to now - I have 2 doses left. The vast majority have been taken at the licenced 7 day interval. Last few I did extend to about 8-9 days as I no longer want to lose (Although the last 10 pounds were the slowest to come off!). For this reason I had a follow up consult last week. The pharmacist said don't continue to extend the interval but instead drop to 12.5mg weekly. I'm quite happy to do this and put through an order.

Pharmacist has declined it today and said I need to go back to 2.5mg due to the gap in ordering. This is despite me showing a picture with today's date, the open pen showing 2 doses in it and all prescribing details. I also uploaded the pic from November showing I had 4 pens then (with date on it). I have since sent pictures of the spreadsheet I keep with all my injection dates and doses and my account from Medexpress. I can evidence 14 pens bought since late Oct 24.

Sorry this is so long. I'm so so stressed though about potentially dropping back to 2.5mg. I have lost 9 stone and changed my life. Any advice?

Oushk’s customer service has tanked recently so many people seem to be having issues. They grew rapidly with Hira on social media but I agree with @WeAllHaveWings in that Hira has form for saying one thing and her prescribers do something else. Clearly they have tightened up in a lot of areas but the shifting goalposts and lack of consistency are infuriating. I have sent in a complaint but am constantly fobbed of with a ‘we aim to respond in 24/48 hrs) but it’s just tumbleweed back, I don’t think they actually have a customer service team. They are expensive compared to some suppliers

RosaBaby2 · 24/03/2026 23:33

Cuva prescribed 15mg for me with proof of orders from my Medexpress account after Medexpress themselves refused to let me have 15mg as I'd had too much of a gap (even though I ordered my stockpile from them)

I’m maintaining @MJMaude but don’t mind if I lose a bit more. I went with WePrescribe as their TrustPilot reviews were good and the prices better than Oushk’s. There’s £40 off for new patients and 10% off for returning customers which helps. The only thing I haven’t liked so far was that there’s no way to choose a delivery date.

They don’t have a fixed BMI, it’s on a case by case basis. My BMI is just over 21. The video consultation was very thorough.

My problem with Oushk was that we’d agreed a spacing of 10 days between doses and a 14 day gap between pens but I was still ordering within their 6 week window. I agreed this pattern in August 2025 but the worst experience I had reordering was when they asked for the same information 3 times in one day. Made me feel that I was being accused of something.

I considered loads of options for an alternative provider but my BMI was a bit low for some.

Edit. Sorry @MJMaude i quoted my post instead of you question

Anyone know if the "golden dose" is likely to be a problem/not for the new providers? The only discrepancy in my dosing is that I have withdrawn the extra dose to get a fifth. All bar one still used within 30 days of opening. All extra doses withdrawal in a sterile/aseptic fashion.

You might get away with the golden dose with prescribers who are going off label. I think Voy are ok with it. I’ve not raised it with WePrescribe and I don’t think it’s going to matter soon anyway as the new pens roll out

Thank you. That's reassuring. I know what you mean - I feel as though I'm being accused of fiddling things atm. I absolutely understand the importance of responsible prescribing and when the video pharmacist last week said i should be using 12.5mg weekly and not extending the interval on 15mg I was quite happy to comply. I will also understand if they tell me ongoing I can't use the fifth dose (moot point as I'm not sure it exists any more). Fingers crossed i can fix this. I've barely slept.

@MJMaude it’s fixable. Just not with Oushk. They’ve changed so much in the year I’ve been using them and their record keeping is pants. It doesn’t seem to matter what a previous prescriber has said when it comes to approving the next prescription. I’ve not hear about the same issues with any other prescriber so pick a couple to email with your questions and make a judgement based on the replies.

I’m not ruling Oushk out for the flexi plan for the future but chances are I’d have similar problems with that and I’m fed up of giving Oushk money for nothing - maintenance assessment I did in January I’m talking about you!

MJMaude · 25/03/2026 07:37

@Jins out of interest - are weprescribe happy for you to keep a protocol of delaying doses beyond 7 days? I was given the impression by Oushk (well, told!) that this could be a maintenance option but now they seem to be doubling down on not allowing it. As I've said I'm absolutely prepared to drop dose and go back to strict 7d but interested in your experience.

@MJMaude that was the question I asked in my initial email. So in the video consult it was the main topic and I had to explain it thoroughly again. Doses on day 0. 10, 20 and 30 and a 10-14 gap between pens. The pen I’m currently using was dispensed back in August but I explained I’d stockpiled before the price rise and used the earliest best by dates first (which was true) and all was good. The approach was described as unconventional but as I’d been following that pattern since August they were happy to continue to support.

That gives a window of 44 days to run a stockpile down with no need to mention golden doses 😉

Drop them an email. I’ll PM you now with more details.

@Jins I've managed to get a video consultation this afternoon - I'm going to lay it all out and hope they'll agree to take me on. Thanks so much for your help/advice.

Hope it goes well @MJMaude. I’ve PMd you. I wouldn’t lay out the golden dose though as it’ll be gone next month anyway and it just complicates things

FurForksSake · 25/03/2026 11:05

Oh bloody hell. I had a query from oushk and didn’t think too much about it. I chose a random date for my pen as I’ve got a stockpile. If they look at it they’ll realise I use golden dose and in recent weeks I’ve begun to click count. I might need to look for another provider. I’ve got three pens, but I was trying to keep to the six weeks but thought that was ordering not delivery date so I was just being dumb. I’d happily take a 7.5 pen but I won’t be down to 2.5 by the time I need it.

if they put me down to 2.5 can I order a 5 the following month and then a 7.5?

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 25/03/2026 15:55

Yes they will have no problem taking your money as you work back up. Oushk , along with others, just want your money every 5/6 weeks

I am not going to be paying them £15 a month or whatever just to stay on their books though as I work through my stockpile.

Doggymummar · 27/03/2026 20:17

Ahhh so oushk have now refused to prescribe saying I left too long between orders. The told
me in December it would be fine and I ordered early Feb. Today they are supposed to despatch and have said I need to go back to lowest dose. That are such fuckers, I don't think they realise how much this screws with people's mental health. I got mad and told them to stuff it and refund me so I guess I'm going it alone.

MJMaude · 27/03/2026 21:10

@Doggymummar You're right about the mental health part. I was in absolute pieces over this. I've lost almost 9 stone over 18 months and dropped my BMI from 43 to 22ish. It's been literally life changing. Being told I would need to drop from 15mg to 2.5 had me absolutely beside myself. I deliberately had consultations with them (paid for) to discuss my stash and was assured there would be no problem with a delay in ordering as long as I dated and photographed it. I paid for a maintenance consultation last week where a drop to 12.5mg was advised and agreed. They took payment for my subscription to the "conti plan" to continue on mounjaro on maintenance. Looking at my account this looks to have been "prescribed" and a letter sent to my GP. Then said nope. No more for you. Back to 2.5 is all you're getting.

I have moved providers now. Had a video consultation this week. Were very understanding about the stockpile situation around the price rise. Have advised against extending doses as I have recently and want me to follow datasheet recommendations. No problem. Am dropping to 12.5mg weekly. It was ordered and dispatched same day and I received it the next day.

FurForksSake · 27/03/2026 21:21

I don’t understand how they’ve suddenly alienated so many people. My gap was more accidental, I just chose a random date for my prescription to be delivered as I’ve got some stockpile. I didn’t realise it had pushed me over the six weeks. I’m expecting they’ll only prescribe a 2.5, but I’ll probably be a chicken and accept it and order a 5 in six weeks and then a 7.5 and order 7.5 every six weeks. With the loss of the golden dose it will all work out and I won’t need to use the 2.5 for a while as I’m tapering through a stash.

ThirdStorm · 27/03/2026 21:24

MJMaude · 24/03/2026 21:37

I wouldn't mind if Oushk had been clear with me from the start but they were so reassuring that my stockpile wouldn't be an issue.

they did the same to me, reassured me using up my stock pile would be fine so I paid the monthly fee for their flexi plan, and when I come to order 5 months later I’m sent back to 2.5mg. I feel let down by ouskh. I hear swift doctor are more sensible.

WeAllHaveWings · 27/03/2026 21:29

Leave a composed and factual trust pilot review. Making it clear you followed their advice for ordering gap, but they then would not prescribe your dose cutting off your treatment unexpectedly.

TheSlimmingPumpkin · 27/03/2026 21:55

@MJMaude honestly those maintenance plans seem like a con now. Paying £15 a month to stay on their books - what’s that all about? Especially given you will be knocked back to 2.5mg anyway. I think we just need to be careful to use up our stash and balance new orders as @FurForksSake says.

Yep me too had mine Christmas eve as that was th day my pens ran out explaining I missed a few doses as I'm not always super organised and might go ten or 12 days between appointments and showed my pens I had left 3xp,ained I was micro dosing and thr6 would las5 till April. No problem they said then today, with my jab due Monday they say .25 of wegovy and a refund of differenc3 paid. I could hav3 had this six weeks ago with a different company but opted to stay as they were so supportive and reassuring. Feeling connecd. I. 99lb down and was planning on staying on low dos for life, but maybe not now

Is anyone asking questions on their nessg boards?

Doggymummar · 27/03/2026 22:38

Last time. Looked it was full. And not being used

MJMaude · 27/03/2026 23:07

What's the point in the video consultations where a dose is advised/agreed if it is then denied by another pharmacist? I literally ordered within 24hrs of a video consultation for the first available delivery date to then have it refused. Happy to take my money at the same time for the maintenance plan which was approved for continuing meds. And sent to my GP to confirm this.

Just seems to be pockets of frustration on their Circle boards. I don’t think even Oushk is using it other than to post newsletters and information about lives. Don’t see much response on their at from Oushk so it is dying a slow death.

Dooodaaaaadooo · 27/03/2026 23:49

I just go to my local pharmacist every few weeks for my appointment. So much easier than dealing with online and a human approach! I was weeks behind after a trip to Oz and he just weighed me had a general chat and I left with my MJ !
