Weight loss and Training for bum and legs!

Hi all, I’m 56, 5’5” and currently 13.3 stone and aiming to drop to 10 stone on Mounjaro.
I’ve found the other threads on here invaluable for advice and guidance so thought would post my specific issue.
I carry all of my weight on my extremely flabby thighs and huge bum. I’ve lost a stone in 6 weeks and now have teeny wrists, my rings have fallen off, my waist has got even thinner and my collarbones are now sticking out. Notwithstanding, I’m very, very happy with the wright loss and being an apparent super-responder, hate the horrible side effects but hey ho. Exercise-wise I walk the dog and can when needed do 25k steps in a day but probably average 8-10k and swim 50-70 lengths a week.
I want to get rid of my flabby legs and huge bum and don’t know how.
I am lucky that have access to a brilliant university equipped gym and happy to give anything a go. I’ve got two jobs at present so time is limited but as I work mostly from home can do stuff at home.

I brought a walking board/treadmill to get steps in during my working day as i have alot of meetings. I also sometimes will use my dumbells when its a camera off meeting

Congrats on your weight loss. In your shoes I would be looking at strength training to build muscle in your legs and bum as the fat comes off. Holding weights (start with 2kg and progressing as you get heavier) while you do squats, lunges, deadlifts and glute bridges. Find a workout online that you can follow along with, there are lots on YouTube, or you can try the relevant machines in the gym. An hour with a personal trainer might be helpful to get you off to a good start?

Weight training will improve muscle tone. Use the weights machines - easy to use / safe and increase gradually .

Have a Google of lipoedema. I have had horrible legs and bum all my life , and it was a total
shock but actually made total sense when I found I had this. Conventional exercise won’t help, and may exacerbate the issue

Please consider a pelvic health check before beginning a programme of heavy lifting: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5359167-words-of-warning-strength-training-and-pelvic-floor

Yes not a bad idea to check it’s safe to lift. Seated weights machines wouldn’t put pressure on pelvis - and yes squats and deadlifts are not for everyone. Pilates does often involve deep squats.

Be careful about hoping for too much muscle while you’re losing weight in a calorie deficit. I would still do weight training, but know that the gains will be slow.

I’m the opposite, I’ve lost my bum and I want it back!
