How do I use a reusable Wegovy pen without instructions?

I've got Wegovy in a re-usable, refillable pen - however they must have forgotten to post the instructions with it and honestly I am stumped. The dial at the end moves round to set the dose and to me it looks like you would then push the end in and it would act as a sort of plunger to push the liquid through the needle. But looking inside, the 'plunger' is too far away from the top of the liquid to make contact and make this pushing motion. It's really hard to explain what I mean but I've added a photo in case. Doing a Google search for this type of pen isn't really coming up with anything!

Help!

You just keep dialling and pushing until the plunger makes contact with the glass vial. Then you measure your dose in the usual way.

Sorry if I'm being thick but when I dial and push the plunger part doesn't move at all - that's what I mean I feel like it should be

That’s not a legitimate Wegovy pen, assuming you are in the UK? The only pen supplied in the UK is not refillable. Also, any prescribed medication in the UK will come with patient information leaflets inside the medication box.

Where did you get this from if you are in the UK?

ChampagneCharlotteLemonadeBudget · 19/03/2026 15:41

Sorry all ignore me, managed to get it to work now!

That's not a legit pen, you've not been prescribed that, there's videos on you tube of how to fill and use those pens from peptides and bac water.
If you know that you have bought that, not sure why you'd think it would come with instructions? , 😂if however you think you've been prescribed it legit, in the UK you've been had.

ChampagneCharlotteLemonadeBudget · 19/03/2026 15:43

As I said, sorted now

I can see that you’re not interested, but that is not legitimate Wegovy, it could be anything that’s been supplied to you and you have no idea how hygienically or not it’s been prepared and stored, and so on. Suffice it to say you should not be using it.

Wildgoat · 19/03/2026 17:45

Jeez do people really buy fake crap and inject themselves with it??

So, go on, spill, who are the "they" in your first sentence?

Living up to your username, anyway, I suppose. This is literally risking your life to save money.

Risking life to lose weight. The thing about this is it’s ok till it’s not. We see these cases all the time. There is no control on quality, the supply chain, even the product, so they keep injecting. And it’s fine. Then one day they end up with a life limiting condition or dead. And queue sad face picture of the person in a hospital bed saying it’s for life and warning others not to do it.

but fools will always be parted with their money.

i just don’t know how you can do it. Actually inject yourself with some shite you bought and hope you don’t die or ruin the rest of your life.

Believe it or not some people are actually intelligent, have plenty of common sense and an ability to do their own research. It’s not just a case of injecting any old rubbish into your body and hoping for the best. That would clearly be ridiculous and positively Darwinian.

There are many thousands of of us who are choosing to not pay over £300/month and are also not taking any risks with our health.

If it's not prescribed it literally could be anything.

Taking anything like this is so stupid. So, so stupid.

SilenceInside · 19/03/2026 18:24

@xino “do their own research” is what people always say to justify this kind of poor decision making. Look at the state of that device, no one should be providing that as a medical device and expecting people to mix their own medication, fill a non sterile pen and use it repeatedly. It looks like a cheap vape and cannot possibly be hygienic or sterile. Come on.

And that’s before you get into what the powder that’s being supplied actually is, what it contains, how it was made and stored, what type of organisation its purchase is funding (hint, organised crime) and so on.

Explain what your “own research” is beyond google and it’s someone I know and trust them (which is what my husbands reckless friend is considering doing 🤦🏻‍♀️).

Even if a company gives you copies of data sheets, or lab tests they are selling it to you illegally, you have no idea if those data sheets or tests are legitimate, if it is the same quality for every batch they knock off, how the medication was transported and stored, as they are not regulated by anyone.

What research would that be then? Tik tok?

socks1107 · 20/03/2026 07:47

If that’s really a fake pen and you don’t even have instructions I’d not recommend putting that anywhere near your body, and certainly not inject whatever they’ve sent you. Being thin doesn’t equal healthy if you’ve injected a substance without proper controls.

Research? Ok, what’s your PhD in?
