Hair loss

Had a family photo taken on a windy day, hair blowing behind me and I was shocked to see it looks like Im going bald!
My hairline is receeding, particularly at the temples.
Ive been on MJ since end of May and slowly lost 3 stone.
Im mid 50s , menopausal so probably perfect storm for hair loss.
Also colour my hair /grey roots reguarly so maybe this doesnt help either?
I havent noticed lots of hair loss when brushing or washing my hair so was really shocked by the photo.
Bit of a wake up call-Im slimmer but going bald!!!!
Has anyone else had this in MJ?
Anything helped? Supplements, shampoos etc? Ive just panic bought regaine for women!
Just wondered if I stopped taking MJ it will grow back.
Of course this is making the assumption it is MJ thats caused it.
My mum in her eighties has also lost a lot of her hair and shes never been on WLI -so maybe its genetic? But I think she was older when it happened to her. We both have fine hair .
Any advice or shared experience greatly received!

I was at the hairdresser recently and she said the amount of people on MJ etc who have lost hair is incredible.. it’s definitely the drug in lots of cases.

@workshy46 your hairdressers anecdata is meaningless because she does not have a control group of people who are losing weight at a similar rate whilst not on Mounjaro to compare it to. No one does, unless they are doing a proper clinical trial and looking at specific side effects.

You could only confidently state that it’s “definitely the drug” if you could compare the rate of hair loss across two groups and see that it was higher in the group on Mounjaro.

Its listed as a side effect on the information packaging. Maybe it is ancidotal but lots of people on here have stated they had lost weight before with no hairloss and now have using the drugs and their weight loss rate is similar. For most it is something they can live with given the benefits of the drug but denying it exists isn't really helpful when s many are saying they are experiencing it

I’m not saying that people don’t experience hair loss. I’m saying that you cannot say it’s “definitely the drug” that causes it above and beyond what would happen if people lost the same amount of weight without WLI.

I had hair loss on Mounjaro, it stopped on its own and now my hair is normal. It was the weight loss, not the Mounjaro, in my opinion. That’s my bit of anecdata.

Mine fell out really dramatically at the 6 month stage, I was only on 2.5 as well. My ponytail was literally a scraggly mess, the clumps I was removing daily from the shower worried me so much. Then it just slowed down and then I grew loads of new baby hairs all round my head like a mane.

I’ve now had my hair cut into a short bob. A huge change for me but it was looking so shit long.
