Considering weight loss injections after long-term plateau: options, providers and advice?

I’ve struggled with weight since my youngest was born 10 year ago. I’m now a 31 year old, and no matter how much exercise and healthy eating I do I can’t seem to shift it. I’m currently stuck on 18 stone and so tempted to try the weight loss injections.

What weight loss injections to you advise? And where is best to order from? And any sort of advice to try and get myself out of the rut I’ve found myself stuck in?

Thankyou guys.

Just go for it. You won’t regret it. Loads of info on the WLI boards here, plus online/ podcasts. I’d say mournjaro seems to give better results / less side effects but is more ££. Check out monj.co.uk for deals. Good luck!!

At the moment the choice is between Wegovy, which is the UK brand name for Ozempic used specifically for weight loss, or Mounjaro. Wegovy mimics one hormone (GLP1) that controls appetite and fullness, Mounjaro does the same but also mimics another hormone (GIP) which is also involved in appetite/fullness. Mounjaro was shown to be more effective (on average more weight lost) than Wegovy. Both showed a significant amount of weight loss though, although Wegovy had slightly more reports of gastric side effects.

Wegovy is much cheaper than Mounjaro at the moment, and it’s likely to stay that way.

You can order from any GPhC registered online pharmacy, or from a local high street pharmacy in person if they offer WLI. Have a look at https://monj.co.uk for a Mounjaro price comparison list, or https://igovy.co.uk for Wegovy. Bear in mind that the discount price listed is for the first order only, after that you need to look at the retail price, or consider changing pharmacy to get another new customer deal.

I would say that you need to consider your long term plan once you get to target weight, if you find you want to continue taking WLI to help you maintain. The cost of that needs to be factored into your planning.

It’s fantastic but not a cheap quick fix.

As @SilenceInside says, you need to factor in staying on the WLI for at least a year after you’ve reached your target weight to allow your body time to adjust to your new size, portions etc.

Otherwise, you risk putting it all back on again.

I include the cost of MJ in my monthly budget as an essential spend.
