What's the best free tracking app?

I'm due to start MJ at the end of this week. I'm getting it through prescription from my GP. My BMI is 45. I've got 10 stone to lose.
I'd really like to track my calories, and especially my protein intake. Bonus if I can track my weight on it too.
Does anybody have a recommendation for a good free app?
Many thanks

I use Lose It, it was free for the basic and I pay a yearly subscription. People like my fitness pal and nutracheck. I’d download some and have a play, the user interface is the most inportwnt bit. One that you find easy to upload and save your own recipes will do you well.

Nutracheck!

I love it, it’s a great app. Easy to use. Track your calories, fibre, protein, whatever matters to you. Save recipes. Scan barcodes. Save your weight. It does it all.

Thank you for the replies! I'm a complete novice, never used a tracker before, so I will have a look at them.

Most do a free trial or are free for most of the productivity so definitely use a couple.

I use my fitness pal, have used it to loose 5 stone and have continued to use it to maintain. You can add the recipes you make from scratch so they're easy to find once you've done it once. Once you've been doing it a few weeks and you've found all your regular foods its very quick to add your food each day.

I agree but it isn’t free which is what the OP asked for.
That said OP, given you don’t have to pay for your mounjaro it might be worth paying for nutracheck.
Currently £27 a year which is very good value.
I find it to be far and away the best.

Another vote for Nutracheck. I have found it really worth the annual subscription.

£27 a year is definitely reasonable. Tbh I thought the payable ones would be more like £10 a month and didn't want to pay out if I could get the same for free. I've downloaded Nutracheck. Thanks all

Good luck, if you get stuck with it just shout and one of us will help you!

(and I'm sorry, I did miss that you asked for 'free'- it's annoying when posters don't read properly so I apologise!)

“Best” really depends on your needs. There are some with lots of bells and whistles that you might not want to use.

I am fine with MFP - it’s free, tracks my weight, and when I occasionally calorie track to see how I am doing it tracks my calories/macros over a week which is more than sufficient. I don’t need anything else worth paying for.

I also have the free app that comes with my scales which also tracks weight and measurements.

Anything else specific I want to track (pens, doses, side effects, orders, TDEE, bmi etc) I stick in excel. Love a spreadsheet.
