Shemed

I'm thinking of using Shemed to start Wegovy injections, they're currently running a promotion for your first two months for £75 which seems pretty good - any feedback about them at all/any referral codes?

I'm 112kg and have tried so hard for so long to shift weight, it would be so nice to spend this summer not grossly overweight and uncomfortable!

I’ve never used them but was put off by the subscription model, then more so by how they did not honour the price they promised people who signed up for their 12 month plan.

https://igovy.co.uk/wegovy-price-comparison-uk/ I can see a whole lot of cheaper options that don’t rope you in for a subscription.

That's great thank you, I'll have a look through the list 😊

I think I feel a bit more inclined to use Shemed as they do a blood test beforehand, so for whatever reason it seems more in depth/safe?! Which I realise is probably bonkers and what they rely on to get people on board.

I hadn't realised it was a subscription though, when you go through to the checkout it says 'no lock in commitment' in the small print?!

I started on SheMed last January. I was on Mounjaro until August when the price went up. Was on 10mg at that point and had lost 2.5 stone. They offered to keep me on mounjaro but more than doubled the price (went from £99 to £259) or move to wegovy.

I moved to wegovy and ended up putting on a stone. It didn’t work. I was pissed off they didn’t honour the price I signed up for. So I ended up coming off GLPs altogether. I’ve now put 21lb back on.

I’m going to go back on mounjaro but I’ll be provider hopping every month to the cheapest. I really wouldn’t recommend SheMed, there are much better weight loss programs out there.

The blood test doesn't make anything safer @Flitwickle

It's a marketing ploy IMO.

Also - go straight for Mounjaro.
And swap pharmacies every month so you get the best discounts.

Good luck! I've lost 9st 6lb.

Everyone I know that went on wegovy went back to mounjaro. I lost 7 stone in 12 months on mounjaro.

You can pay for a separate similar blood test from several different online providers if you wanted to before starting taking Wegovy/Mounjaro. The Shemed test covers cholesterol, triglycerides, HDIL, LDL, Hba1C, and thyroid function according to their website. You might find out that you have high cholesterol, fatty liver, pre-diabetes or a Hba1C level in the diabetic range, or issues with your thyroid. It's all useful to know if you haven't had a recent blood test, but none of it is to do with safety before starting Wegovy/Mounjaro.

It is a monthly subscription, if you read their terms and conditions you need to give them at least 21 days notice before the next charge is due to cancel without being charged for that month. They also are much more controlling about what dose level you move onto each month compared to an ordinary online pharmacy.

I personally avoid the subscription type providers and have moved providers regularly to keep costs down.

My GP does all those tests every year anyway, on the NHS

bignewprinz · 03/02/2026 07:53

I can recommend this company for blood tests, all done in an NHS lab: https://monitormyhealth.org.uk/.

The freedom to order my next jab as and when I pleased (within reason) was super useful, and also to have control of whether I stayed on the same dose or increased. I personally wouldn't buy the meds from any provider who took those options away from me.

This is my review I put in yesterday for Trustpilot on SheMed ~ Awful company!

Good God I am sooooo angry right now, should be nil stars review. I think they wrote the positive reviews themselves. After one month of purchasing in advance Wegovy pen after filling in two questionnaires, buying new scales for weigh in, doing a blood test which was perfectly good when I sent it ( they said it wasn't full) and a month now of email correspondences of further questions ~ SheMed now tells me that I would always have been ineligible for their plan because I'm on Warfarin. FFS! What a nasty lot of cruel time wasters. They say they will refund me my pension, and they had better. My daughter said already a few weeks ago when they had no results for my blood tests that they are scammers. Looks like she was right. And SheMed is wrong. You can go on Wegovy if you're on Warfarin so long as you agree to partake in the necessary IRN blood checks and keep on top of any issues. Horrible horrible time wasting and disappointing company. It was important to me to be starting my plan for beginning of Jan and they've completely messed that up. Now to begin allover again.

Sweetiedarling7 · 08/02/2026 08:41

Ask your gp for a blood test to check any concerns. I had this done before I started mounjaro. If your nhs gp won’t comply you can get it done privately relatively easily.

Don’t bother with Wegovy. It might be cheaper but having tried both I can definitely say that Mounjaro is what you need. Wegovy is really not as effective.

Start now and this will be your year!

Provider wise, if you want a subscription I recommend Curely but you can just shop around and change suppliers monthly to get the best deal.
