I'm dithering - anyone else?

I received my first 0.25mg WeGovy injection pen today, but I'm so unsure about whether to go through with it. I have around 20-25lbs to lose. I have always struggled to lose weight despite eating well, swimming training and lifting heavy and it's really got me down. I have coeliac and histamine issues, and have been told that GLP1s have benefits for inflammation, which really appeals. I'd love to be able to stay on a low dose rather than going up to a maximum dose and I wouldn't be against being on a low dose longterm if it works.

My reservations are I guess a fear of side effects, a fear of completely losing the enjoyment I have around food (I love meals out and love to bake) and I guess fear of being on something that has such big effects on the body. I'm driving myself nuts - it's literally all I've thought about for a few weeks (listening to podcasts, reading books and forums etc). I don't know what I expect anyone to say back - just feeling a bit shaky I guess!

I guess part of the dithering is the thought that I might be one of the ones it doesn’t work for, and then all the should I/shouldn’t I would be irrelevant, so I might as well just crack on. Thank you to everyone who’s replied ❤️

Changed my life. Don't take it at night. I did this once and it kicked in during the night and I woke up feeling bloated and uncomfortable. Morning works for me.

I’ve just taken my first injection of Wegovy. Did one pen of Mounjaro last year but got side tracked moving home. This time I’m determined. The injection is not painful at least I didn’t find it so.

Are you actually clinically obese or just a bit heavy and wanting to get skinny?

I was seriously obese so took MJ as I felt desperate to lose the weight and reduce the other health risks associated with obesity. However, I wouldn’t have risked getting pancreatitis if I was only a little bit over a normal healthy BMI.

I’m in the obese range on the calculator

How did you get on? I'm about to do my first one. Is doing it at night time ok do you think?
I'm trying not to dither! Hope OP has done it! X

Just came on to say I did my first 2.5mg of Wegovy last night.
The actual injection was nerve wracking but absolutely painless and easy!
I did it before bed, slept fine (besides struggling to get to sleep, I think because I was on edge) and don't seem to have had any effects yet.
Good luck to all those think about taking the plunge!

I just did mine! Actually shaking. It didn’t hurt at all-I haven’t mentioned it to my husband so I do feel like I’m doing something sketchy. Let’s see how this week goes! Good lucky @Nancylancy! We’ll have to update each other!

Well done!!! I was exactly the same as you, but once the first week was gone all the worry was gone too. It was almost an anticlimax after all the catstrophising - no side effects at all (so far).

I have a feeling mine will be an anticlimax too! I hope it works. When I was dithering it was a possibility it could - there was a bit of hope!

How are you feeling today OP?

Thank you for asking! I’ve felt fine this week, very minor appetite suppression and food noise. My scales have broken (great timing) so I’m not sure about my weight. My waist measurement has increased though! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I haven’t been even slightly as itchy though (I usually have a histamine response to foods etc).

did anyone else start this week, and if so how are they feeling?
