Is there anyone on Mounjaro who is also taking berberine tablets?
just wondering if there’s been any side effects other than aiding the weight loss?

My provider said not to mix the 2….

Did they say why?

Yes - she said they are acting on the same pathway and not known if there is negative interaction when berberine taken at the levels to suppress appetite - annoying as I have a a large bottle !! But will use when I come off
be interesting to hear if anyone is actually using them together

MsSquiz · 20/01/2026 16:55

Sounds like we’re both in the same place.
I was hoping it would mean dropping back down to a lower dose for maintenance and using the berberine along side it

Where did you get your berberine?

MsSquiz · 20/01/2026 17:25

I got mine from Boots

I take berberine, it helps take the edge off the cravings and hunger I get on my (now) lower dose of MJ. No side effects from the berb. I believe there's a risk of hypos from combining the two but I haven't had this as on fairly low doses of both. When I come off MJ I plan to continue.

I've been taking both for several months. No problems so far. However, I have pcos with insulin resistance so need all the help I can get to control blood sugar and carb cravings.

I would think you’d be at risk of blood sugar levels dropping too low as they both act of that.
