Mounjaro and hormone related side effects

Has anyone suffered from hormone related side effects? I have just gone up to 5mg and my skin has broken out in acne. I have also started bleeding, which is unheard of for me due to being on the pill. Im wondering if its all linked and if so, how long it will last.

You need to be a bit careful if you're on hormonal contraception I think. Like with HRT the delayed gastric emptying can affect its effectiveness, hence the bleeding.

Yes this, it affects hrt and the pill and other medications

Lots of women who are on the pill or are menopausal report here that Mounjaro causes the menstrual cycle to reassert itself. That happened to me. No periods for years on mini pill and on MJ they’re suddenly regular again. But weirdly much less painful.

But I’m not convinced the mechanism is as simple as delayed gastric emptying slowing pill uptake. If that were the case, surely the effect would wear off after months on the same dose? Yet my periods seem here to stay.

Surely something more complex to do with interacting hormone systems, presumably related to why MJ helps women with PCOS so much?

The advice to use extra contraception when starting or going up a dose is of course sensible, though. Anything that interferes with digestion, which MJ certainly does, could inhibit pill effectiveness.

I'm post menopause and also past all the hot flushes etc for some time before starting mj. But I've noticed I do get the occasional flush again now especially now I'm on a higher dose (12.5).
It's definitely having some kind of effect on my hormones in my opinion.

I haven't regained periods, and it's actually helped my ridiculous hot flushes, because I seem to run a bit colder since I have been on it.

Thats interesting, thank you. Disappointing that my period might be here to stay though.

Yes, I’ve been very unimpressed with that!

It’s something to do with fat cells releasing hormones as they shrink,
