Hand-hold - and tips - first jab today

Have my first 2.5 Mounjaro in the fridge. V excited for my new life but also v scared of the jabbing process - not to mention any potential side-effects. I live alone and fear having some calamitous health crisis with no-one to notice or help. I don’t want to tell my friends I’m on it, at least not just now. They’re a bit of a “just eat less and move more” crew. So, any hand-holding or encouragement would be gratefully received!

Also any tips for the actual jabbing. Eg is it best to have some food in me or have an empty tummy?

thank you in advance 🙏

Am I allowed to ask where everyone gets their Mj from?
I keep looking but getting overwhelmed by too many choices.
I really want to get started.

I use Voy (and can share a code if anyone is interested; we’d both benefit). It’s an app with a couple of intro sessions and a 1-1 with a nutritionist, plus an AI chat that can pass you on to a human. Tracks weight, injections, habits, meals and macros (you take a photo of the meal and give a bit of info and it can give you a health score for the meal).

It’s been great for my first few months, I’ll probably shop around at later stages to get a better deal.

Well done on taking the plunge, OP!

Oh and many people seem to use the monj site which lists all the legit providers by price and dose.

I went to Boots. I know they aren’t the cheapest and most people on here seem to use online pharmacies, but I felt more comfortable as a newbie using somewhere I knew and trusted. Plus I could pick up the parcel from the Boots round the corner instead of trying to be home for a delivery.

I may change in future but so far am impressed with how it’s gone.

@BigFatBloomers I’ve been with Oushk from the start, not interested in shopping around for deals, cba - the reordering process is not as streamlined as I think it could be but it’s simple enough.
Also not interested in sharing codes so I won’t 😂
I’ve been told Oushk isn’t the cheapest so if price is a concern shop around.
I haven’t taken them up on any of the services they offer so can’t tell you if I’ve found them any good, I literally just use them to place a monthly order.

Check the monj.co.uk site (or its sister site igovy.co.uk for wegovy) and trust pilot rating / or even search names on here to see what kind of comments they get. I haven't used them before personally but Pharmulous, Swift, Cloud usually have positive comments on here. I am currently with Oushk who are a little bit more expensive, been with them for 16 months, if/when I decide to switch I will probably try one of the first three.

I personally would avoid pharmacies that are subscription or use referral codes. Especially referral codes as there are not many places you can share them now - codes should not be shared or offered on here for example, same with facebook, not sure if reddit allows it still.

You might also find a pharmacy local to you not on the list does them too.

@Alltheyellowbirdswell done & welcome to the best decision you’ve ever made! I know how you feel with the health anxiety, but remember pancreatitis etc doesn’t just emerge full blown with no warning signs & it’s incredibly rare. Reality is most people have very minor, if any side effects. If you’re anything like me, after a few days you’ll forget you’ve even taken it! Keep us posted.
