Mounjaro with no gallbladder?

Apologies I expect this is much discussed - I had my gallbladder out a few years ago, and am looking at WLI now. Most of the websites I’ve looked on seem to say you cannot order if you have had gallbladder issues/removal.

I would have thought if your gallbladder had been removed there wouldn’t be an issue?

any advice or direction on companies to look at would be appreciated. Thanks!

Try Pharmulous, my DH recently ordered from them without issue and he had his gallbladder out in 2021.

I’ve been taking MJ with Oushk and I had my gallbladder removed 2024 .

This is an issue with some suppliers but not others. I don’t have my gallbladder and have been using Mounjaro for over a year. I use Cloud and have also used Swift Doctor. I moved from MedExpress who I started with because I discovered they had found out people didn’t have their gallbladder and stopped supplying to them but also because I wanted a supplier who would support long term maintenance.

Yep had mine removed in 2006.

How could they find out people didn't have a gallbladder unless they told them?

There are no contra indications for someone with no gallbladder. I had mine removed about 6 months before I started on mounjaro.
Most pharmacies will allow it. I'm currently with Oushk and have been for some time but I've also ordered from Medexpress, Pharmacy2U amongst others and they didn't have a problem with it.
There might be the odd pharmacy that will say no but you won't have any problem getting it.

I have no gallbladder and also a refashioned bile duct (I am in remission from bile duct cancer) and my liver surgeon was happy
for me to take Mounjaro and I had no issues with my pharmacy (Asda) giving full disclosure.

They were in contact with people’s GPs. Saw this on this forum.

Thanks so much - off to have a search!

The reason why some pharmacies refuse to prescribe to people with a particular medical condition isn't always based on risk to the patient, but on other, commercial reasons.

I have reached this conclusion after having two different on line pharmacies tell me they will not prescribe Mounjaro to me because I have type 2 diabetes. This obviously makes no sense at all, considering that GLP-1 drugs were originally developed to help type 2 diabetics control their blood glucose and millions of diabetics around the world are benefiting from them.

In the end they are businesses and get to cherry pick the cases they expect to be least problematic. So some of them decide life will be easier and more profitable if they exclude anyone without a gallbladder, or with diabetes.

I have type 2 diabetes as well and just recently got rejected by MedExpress (after 6 months) for being prescribed empagliflozin and gliclizide, which I don’t take anymore.
