Considering using

I have maybe 3-4 stone to lose
I have endometriosis and pcos, used to be slim, but it requires barely eating and working out for a couple of hours per day to maintain a size 10
Would a private Dr write me a prescription with these issues? How much is it per month, how much did you lose per month and how does it feel, any side effects? Do you just barely eat? Does it affect moods at all?
Could I be a size 10 or 12 again by summer? (Currently 18)

Any feedback hugely (pardon the pun 🙄) appreciated

I have been on 2.5mg of moujaro (sp) since 28 July and have lost 30.5 lbs. I have about 7lb left to go.

if you can afford it go for it

I started this time last year as a size 16/18, BMI of over 29 with asthma and joint pain, have lost about 4 stone, currently wearing size 10/12. Most of that weight was in the first 7 months, so I did reach my goal by late summer last year. Have been maintaining ever since Sept, roughly the same weight, over 20kg down from my start weight. Ordered privately thru Numan, then switched to Oushk. Currently paying £244 (with a discount and sometimes a voucher to reduce it) for 7.5mg. Have spaced out doses to every ten days, so a pen lasts me almost 6 weeks now. Good luck.

I've lost 3 stone since May 25, on Mounjaro. If you use an online pharmacy ( I use simple online pharmacy) you actually are prescribed by a doctor who is attached to the pharmacy. You must meet the NICE criteria of BMI over 40, OR BMI over 37 ( I think) with at least one weight related medical problem ( high blood pressure, arthritis etc). I've flat-lined over Christmas but not gained any more. It's both magical that I can actually stick to the diet, and a hard slog trying to eat healthily and get all the nutrients I need on such a low appetite. And trying to maintain muscIe mass. As people say, it's a marathon not a sprint. I think I've got about another stone to lose and hopefully I'll get there in the next couple of months.

@Babsinthewoodthe criteria are as per the MHRA ruling which is a BMI of 30 or more, or 27 or more with one weight related condition or for certain ethnicities where obese is defined as BMI 27 or higher. Not all pharmacies need doctors to review and prescribe although many do. WLIs can be prescribed by a pharmacist with the appropriate training.

Sorry to correct this, very few pharmacies need a doctor.

op, people go up the doses to find the one which works optimally for tnem, some that was 2.5, others were 15mg, I was ten, now maintaining on 5mg.

if I was starting now I’d try wegovy first.

No worries. On reflection my phrasing was unclear, I did not mean that “many pharmacies need doctors to prescribe”, I mean that many of the online pharmacies do use doctors to review and prescribe, and mention that as a selling point. The important point was my last sentence.
