I’ve read some conflicting advice online regarding storage of mournjaro. Do I keep in fridge AFTER opening? I’m travelling over Christmas so how do I take it with me? I haven’t even got the medication yet but already stressing!

When you get the first injection pen, there will be a paper leaflet in the box with the pen that explains how to store it.

To summarise. Unused pens must be kept at fridge temp (2 to 8 degrees C) and can be kept unopened at that temp until the expiry date printed on them. Usually several months.

Opened pens, so once you’ve done the first dose from it, can be kept either at fridge temp or at room temp as long as that’s under 30 degrees C. Wherever you keep an open pen, it should be used within 30 days of first using.

Please don’t stress. There’s a lot of helpful advice on these threads, and you will be surprised how easy it is. Best of luck.

@Overtheatlantic thank you! I’m really worried about starting but I know I need to make changes to live a healthier and longer life for my kids.

Just wait until you see your GP and get blood results that show all the numbers at normal levels. It’s a great feeling to know that you’ve done that, and it’s so much more than your appearance (although loose trousers are nice too!)

Thank you. It’s impossible getting an appointment with GP so I’ve got the meds privately, my BMI is 29.7 so I could have got from GP I think but I didn’t want the hassle. I’m really annoyed with my GP over no appointments tbh. I was feeling really depressed and did an e-consult 3 weeks ago still no reply!

@Georock GPs don’t prescribe Mounjaro unless your BMI is over 40 and you have 4 out of 5 specific weight related health conditions. So very few people qualify, even if their local NHS service has got around to funding it.
