Wegovy still not working

I’ve been on Wegovy for 4 months now. A month each on 0.25, 0.5, 1.0 and now 1.7.

During this time I haven’t experience even the tiniest bit of appetite suppression. I feel I'm committed to completing the transition to the final dosage of 2.4 but am really not expecting anything to change.

Have any others experienced this? It’s incredibly disappointing especially as I know of a number of others who have had great results even on mid range doses.

For those who have experienced similar did you then switch to Mounjaro and if so did that work for you? Did you have to start on the lowest dose or do they allow you to transfer over to an equivalent dose?

Have you been on mounjaro before?
I switched from mj 10mg to wegovy 1.7mg and I've had really strong suppression, I've just finished week 3 and it's built up even stronger this week. Struggled to eat meals and not snacked at all, had 850-1200 cals a day, I am 9st 1.9lbs now as switched almost at goal which is 9st. I've also lost 2lbs in 3 weeks so it's working well for me even at a lower weight and bmi 22.9.
I was prediabetic before and found even on mj I needed the higher doses 10mg and above until I'd lost a fair bit of weight and got to bmi 25 then I couldn't tolerate the higher doses anymore. My point being if you have insulin resistance/pcos/prediabetes then you may need mj as it has the GIP receptor which reduces blood sugar further than wegovy.
As much as weight loss injections help with satiety, not everyone gets suppression but if you are eating in a calorie deficit, you should lose weight. I lost weight on the lower doses even 2.5mg mounjaro due to strict tracking, lower carb and higher protein diet.

That’s really helpful info. My most recent blood test did put me in the pre diabetes range so maybe that’s a factor.

I was planning to do a month on 2.4 and then if still no suppression I’ll switch to Mounjaro which I haven’t tried before.

I’ve done both and found I don’t get anything like the suppression people have got, went up to maximum dose and have lost weight but it’s been very slow.

I didn’t find wegovy suppressed my appetite completely but it did stop the food noise so I was able to eat sensibly and calorie count/ portion control without the desperate urge to raid the fridge. I lost loads doing that (stopped to get pregnant) and will restart in a few months time and hope for the same!

Doesn’t work for me either.. tried it years ago (well ozempic) and it didn’t work at all.

Have done 18 months on mounjaro which did work, swapped to wegovy for this past month, straight in at 2.4 as had been on MJ. And I stand food noise and hunger again, have put on 4lbs in the last few weeks and with mounjaro I was losing steadily.

ShawnaMacallister · 13/12/2025 19:49

I did 5 months on wegovy and found it pretty shit. That was after 6 months on ozempic that worked really well despite being a much lower dose which I find confusing but that's what happened. Switched to Mounjaro when it came out and it's a game changer.

I’m not a fast loser on Mounjaro but do lose however Wegovy had no effect on me whatsoever.
