I am 5.5 ft tall. I started MJ in January of this year, when I weighed 20 stone 8lbs. I have now hovered around 16 stone since August. I am on 15 mg MJ, but the suppression is just not as strong as it used to be. I’m also 67 years old.

I am a bit worried that this is as good as it is going to get. Is there anyone out there of a similar age that has broken through this extreme plateau?

Who is your provider? I’ve recently had a mega stall (since August) and have contacted my provider (Oushk) who’ve been really helpful.
I suggest you contact yours in the first instance. They should go though eveything with you - nutrition, hydration, exercise, sleep
etc.’
Good luck - you’ve done so well already.’

You do need to conciouslu diet op and not rely on the drugs doing all the work for you,

Forgot to say that I’m 70. A very slow loser due to being hypothyroid and on antidepressants.

@Frenchfrychic How is this helpful to the OP?

And I forgot to say I’m hypothyroid as well! Thanks for the info and for being kind!

Common suggestions for a stall (which is no loss for four weeks so yours does sound like one!) is - changing injection site (this worked for me), trying a ‘refeed’ where you take a day or two off from eating in a deficit and then see if it kickstarts things a bit (also worked for me).
the other thing to look at is to do a new calculation of TDEE based on your new weight as you’ll be needing less calories now than you did before when you were at your starting weight.

PurpleCoo · 08/12/2025 06:50

Have you recalculated your TDEE? How many calories a day are you eating? Are you eating high protein, cutting out UPFs? Are you exercising?

IsItSnowing · 08/12/2025 08:59

I would check your calories. Track carefully. Increase your exercise if you can.
You weigh a lot less now so you need less calories. You will also have lost muscle which also means less energy used.
Add some strength training and be super careful with what you eat.
I’ve had similar issues. It’s hard. I read a useful article a while ago. It explained that we get away with not being super strict when we are very overweight because our bodies need more calories so the odd slip isn’t so important. The closer you get to goal weight the odd slip becomes a problem.
