So I have lost 60 pounds naturally this year post baby. But I have plateaued at around 150 pounds. I would love to be at my pre baby weight of 120 pounds. I am really down and depressed due to the weight.

My bmi is just in the overweight category. But I really feel like my weight loss is stalled and plateaued.

Does anyone know what I can do? One online service has denied me already.

I do not have it in me to lose another two stone. I’m at my wits end! I don’t feel like myself anymore

How tall are you op? Just for some context to the bmi of 27.

I understand the reasons why someone with a slightly overweight BMI can't get the injections, but I do think there should be some mechanism for prescribing to people like the OP who have been obese in the long-term within the last year. It suggests her body has metabolically changed, like all obese bodies do and, hence, WLIs are needed to help combat regain in the same way as an obese person who lost with medical support. Not sure how they'd check or regulated it, but it seems logical and fair.

OP, I'm in awe of you losing so much without WLIs. I've lost 7 stone, and could never have done it at this age without Mounjaro. I hope you get the help you need for the final push.

Exactly how do you check and regulate that. It is nearly impossible. What do we have people having pics of themselves saying look I was once obese give me the drugs?

ghe op I am sure can get them, she just needs to eat a big meal and drink some water and she’s 27 bmi, with pcos and possibly some other issues or issues in her family. There is no point trying to get the drugs and giving your lowest weight which is just under.

Because obesity is a disease that causes long term damage to the body that is not 'cured' by just losing weight. The formerly obese body is far more geared to regaining weight and becoming obese again than a never obese body that is just a bit overweight.
The difference is why someone who's never been above 10 stone doesn't suddenly gain 4 stone out of nowhere but a person who was 14 stone and lost 4 stone is very likely to become 14 stone again. Obesity isn't just about 'bad habits' 'lack of knowledge' or whatever other reason most people assume is the cause of weight regain.

yes and? The OP was obese? 🙄 why do you care if someone overweight uses the jab?

the way fat people try and gatekeep MJ is weird.

@Brewdegood luck and huge well done for losing the weight! It’s so bloody difficult. I knocked an inch off my height as my BMI was just 29 but I had no comorbidities 🙈

Aiiii
i was responding to a different point to the one that is being asked by OP. The question I was responding to is 'why is it ok for people to stay on WLI when they reach a healthy weight and it's not ok for lower weight people to start taking them'
Not 'why is OP specifically not allowed to take WLI'

Brewde · 30/11/2025 21:14

I’m JUST under 27. 26.7 based on my weight from a few days ago.

Edited

Then you are not far off being eligible. Weigh later in the day with jeans and a jumper on.
I had a video consult for mine and I was 7lbs heavier when they did it in the later afternoon than in the morning. Obviously with clothes on for the video consult lol but not in the morning.
Some providers are more flexible than others around the 29/30 BMI as well.

IsItSnowing · 01/12/2025 13:40

If you have pcos you should be eligible anyway at 27. Have you tried Oushk? They can be a lot more flexible than some others and will look at your personal circumstances. I'm sure there are others who do similar too.

I don’t think it’d weird. It’s often recommended on here for anyone’s eligible. And that gets criticised too.

i think for ever fat people have faced judgement, lazy, greedy etc, and these injections have a lot of judgement from envious resentful people. The just eat less move more brigade, or you will age, die of cancer or some nonsense.

and now people can lose the weight, we have a whole bunch of healthy weight women going but it’s so hard, why can’t I have them, I spend my days deprived. But they weren’t saying it was oh so hard before the drugs. They were smug and telling people how to do it.

so now, many fat people are like well fuck you.

But the OP was obese so your comment doesn't seem to make sense on this particular thread.

monjmaintainer · 30/11/2025 21:40

@Brewdeits also worth double checking your height - we all lose a tiny bit as we age - I thought I was a cm taller than I am now as using my height from early 20s unquestioningly. Also - similar to the meal thing - we are measurably shorter at the end of the day than the start thanks to gravity compressing our spines! Better to do height in cm as you might have been unthinkingly rounding up in inches which may make a difference when as close to the line as you are and it will affect your bmi calculation.

Totally this! I've been telling everyone for years, and every MJ provider I'm 5'1". Well today I was measured (at my request) by the school nurse at my son's school and I'm only 5' 🙈

Not sure if I should tell my current provider or not. 😂

I was responding to the comments I quoted. This is how the forum works, if you see someone quote another poster, it is as they are responding to that, chain of comments, not as they like it or want to high light it or something,

MeridaBrave · 01/12/2025 20:46

If you have PCOS you only need to have a BMI
of 27 to qualify, and given the circs (BMI previously well above 30 and currently BMI close to 27 I’d be inclined to give a fake weight that is a BMI of 27) or
just let your BMI drift up to 27, won’t take long.

About me. Through massive amounts of willpower over decades I’ve kept my BMI to circa 25. I have. Pcos and hashimotos. At peri menopause my weight crept up to a BMI of 26.5 and my cholesterol crept up to 5.1. I got MJ by eating a large carby meal and drinking lots of water ie letting my BMI hit 27.

i’ve been taking MJ since July. My BMI is now 21.5 and I don’t want to lose more weight but I’ll prob take it forever. I take 2.5mg (and I might titrate down) and for the first time in my life and I don’t need to exert constant willpower. It’s totally liberating in a way I can’t describe.

Yes you responded to a string of comments pointing out the OP was obese, that's why it didn't make any sense. 🤷🏻‍♀️

sorry I still find it weird. Do people really care that much about others and their opinions? Honestly if people focused on themselves and not other people and their shitty opinions I imagine they’d be a lot happier.

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 01/12/2025 23:02

Why do people who have a BMI much lower than mine get support?

Only because their BMI was a great deal higher when they started out.

However, I don't disagree with the OP about her needing some help, and I think she should be entitled to get WLI.

Brewde · 01/12/2025 23:15

I’ve actually had a much more controlled day of eating. Wasn’t craving food like crazy. Was mostly happy with eggs, salad and fajitas.

I was absolutely ravenous yesterday. I genuinely could’ve (and would have previously) eaten 10 slices of shit white toast and honey butter.

Still hoping to be approved by one of the services I applied to.

Thanks all :)

I only admitted this when DD got to around my height, wanted measured and it didn’t quite make sense!

Really hope you get approval and a delivery soon. From everything you have described I think it’s going to be a game changer and give you the mental space to make healthy changes without it being a massive struggle.

disappearingfish · 02/12/2025 05:41

Honestly? I would try another provider and add a few pounds to your reported weight so that you are eligible. You sound like an ideal candidate, assuming you have no other health issues. Try Phlo, a friend in similar circumstances had success with them.

PCOS is awful, my sympathies.

baubletime · 02/12/2025 06:45

Just to say I understand OP. I have lost 3.5 stone by myself. I am just over 11 stone now and 5’6. I would like to get to between 9.5 and 10 stone but it will not shift. I joined team RH and use their app all day every day to monitor every ounce of food and I am stuck. I have been since July. I know a jab isn’t a quick fix but I am not sure why my body won’t drop any more. Monopause may be. It’s so difficult, frustrating and annoying. I’ll get fed up then sabotage myself. It’s awful. Good luck.

edited to add that it would be so easy to stop making good choices and calorie counting and increase my weight to a point that I am eligible.

TheRealGoose · 02/12/2025 07:09

people need to remember every single obese person, who has taken the injections or hasn’t, understands how difficult it is to lose weight and keep it off. It is not some unusual phenomenon that people don’t understand. Some posts are reading like the op is suffering some unusual issues, especially the “I understand “ posts. We all understand. 60 odd percent of the population is overweight or obese.

and access to prescription medication to treat obesity is not about entitlement, it is simply do you meet the prescribing criteria.

the op simply does, I’m struggling to understand why she’d submit an application saying she was 26.7 bmi, when if she weighed at night she’d likely be well over 27 and has a health condition that makes her eligible.

this is not she is being denied the drugs it’s simply she put the lowest weight she could , under the limit and didn’t mention her health condition. User error.

Mysticmaiden · 04/12/2025 21:01

OP you don't need to eat soups and salads to lose weight. High protein and lower carb even hot higher protein meals will work to lose weight. I haven't had soup in decades and salads only every so often in summer and I've gone from being prediabetic and high blood pressure bmi 32.4 13 stones 1lbs to a very normal 23.2 9st 3lbs!

letshavetea · 04/12/2025 21:36

My sympathies with your battle! I feel your pain (as do the rest of us on here). I came on to say try Oushk. They’ve been brilliant for me. Especially good if you have a co morbidity - as you do with PCOS. I have hypothyroidism and depression - so I’m a very slow loser. Well done for losing the weight you e already lost. Also wanted to say they recommend high fibre and lots of protein to sustain and nourish you during your journey.
Let us know how you get on.

Kazzaa46 · 06/12/2025 16:33

I struggled to get MJ at starting BMI 28 but found one provider that accepted me as I’m in perimenopause and they classed that as a condition that would allow it to be prescribed in the overweight category.

Hope you find one who will support you.
