How much weight did you loose on first week of MJ

3 days in only lost 1lb. I know it’s only 3 days🤣I’ve actually woken up hungry this morning..once on correct dose does the hunger completely go? Or is it normal to still feel hunger a few times a day? Usually I’d be starving for breakfast as soon as I opened my eyes so it’s improved a little!

4 lbs. I had no change in hunger but I was terrifed of side effects so ate very clean. It was my largest weekly loss. 10 months later and I’m over 4 stone down. MJ isn’t about huge loses, you don’t want that as you won’t get enough nutrients and you will be more likely to have lose skin. It’s about making steady weight loss achievable.

HollyhockDays · 23/11/2025 09:44

About 4lbs. I’ve lost four stone in total. Took me about nine months.

ResusciAnnie · 23/11/2025 09:46

0.6 lb 🙃🙃

I alternate losing 0.6 then 1.2, then will plateau or even GAIN before my period then maybe drop 2lb. Lost an average of 1lb a week though. Started in June.

A couple of pounds, but some people need to get to 5mg to have any impact.

You only need to get to the dose where the food noise and hunger is reduced so you can eat within a calorie definite.

Getting rid of all hunger and under eating is why people end up with side effects like hair loss and it won't help you build sustainable new habits, so you don't want that.

Yep you’ve got to think long-term, getting used to eating nothing is a very bad thing!

frenchu · 23/11/2025 09:53

thanks all, I’ve done a calorie deficit before and lost 6 stone in 9 months but found it very hard as I felt permanently hungry and my food noise is crazy. So I’ve gained back 4 stone! Hence why trying mj now to see if it helped with managing food noise and hunger to make my calorie deficit easier and maintain the weight after. I tend to lose weight quite fast in a calorie deficit so hoping this is the cracking combo I need in my life!

6lbs, but it was inflammation reduction and water in the main

if you’re on the optimal dose yes you still get hungry for meals, but are full after a recommended portion size, and have no interest in snacking.
2.5 is just initiate treatment, it’s a half dose, 5mg is the first full therapeutic dose, I strongly advise you do the full four weeks on 2.5, the meds build in your system each week, and 5mg, will knock you sick if you move earlier.

PumpkinTwistyWindToots · 23/11/2025 10:38

1lb. You're not supposed to feel no hunger at all!

UnimaginableWindBird · 23/11/2025 10:46

1.5lb. I'm 12 weeks in, and that first week was my slowest weight loss week so far.

And I feel hungry quite often, just an appropriate amount of hunger. I haven't had breakfast yet, same I've for a swim, and my standby is rumbling right now, so I'm going to head off and make myself some porridge.

alecks · 23/11/2025 11:43

I feel hunger all the time, I have done a year on 2.5mg and lost over 7 stone. Hunger is normal. I lost 12lbs on week 1 but I was massive to begin with with a BMI 51

SexyFrenchDepression · 23/11/2025 11:47

I lost nearly 6lb, felt no hunger at all, had 2 stone to lose to get to healthy BMI (I'm short). My appetite was so suppressed within a few hours I struggled to eat the whole week and had between 500 and 800 cals each day, could have had 0.

I have been doing it 3 weeks now and lost just over 10lbs. I have had almost complete hunger suppression the whole time, last 2 days is the 1st time I have wanted to eat and enjoyed my food as have had low level nausea most days. I am terrified about going up to 5mg so may have to try an in between amount.

WeAllHaveWings · 23/11/2025 12:24

10lbs!

I started at a high BMI 44, felt fine and injected in the afternoon.

By the next morning I was in bed with a fever with covid for the first time - resulting in a week in bed eating nearly nothing!

No idea if it was Mounjaro, covid or a combination of both that completely killed my appetite, but I don't recommend it and I expect that was what triggered excessive hair shedding a couple of months later! 🙈

PigeonsandSquirrels · 23/11/2025 12:29

I don’t think I lost very much for about 2 weeks. Maybe 2lbs. My main loss was week 5-9 where I lost 7kg (15lb). It takes a while for the deficit to take effect in my experience.

I moved to 5mg really quickly and didn’t get ‘knocked sick’ at all… haven’t had a single side effect. So that’s not necessarily true.

You don't need to think about going up in doses while you are able to lose an average of 1lb each week. If the starter dose is giving you nausea I don't think moving up would be a good idea.

Sure, but let’s face it it’s a big risk, just as you took it doesn’t mean it’s advisable.

No but equally it’s a lie to say everyone will absolutely experience bad side effects from it when that’s not the case. 25% of people don’t get any side effects from Mounjaro.

20 percent, but that’s based on people following the dosing schedule, not on people taking too much too soon and hoping for the best.

Lazygardener · 23/11/2025 13:01

9lbs. I had 70 lbs to lose (63 gone!). 2.5 mg hit my appetite hard and I stayed on it for 3 months. After the first month, losses were much more modest, and are now 1/2 lb to a pound a week on average. I’m on 7.5 mg and intend to stay on it till I reach goal, then switch to Wegovy for maintenance because of the cost.

You don’t need to move up, in fact you definitely shouldn’t move up if you have not been managing to eat normally.

ChiaraMontague · 23/11/2025 13:11

I actually gained 0.3kg on my first week of Mounjaro, I didn’t have a loss from my starting weight until week 3.
That was back in June and I am now almost 23kg lighter - keep the faith, losses are coming!

fabulosaaa · 23/11/2025 13:17

I lost 12lbs, it’s been a year now and I’ve lost over 6 stone. I have felt hunger throughout but that’s a good thing! It’s not normal to not be hungry
