Fatigue

KilliMonjaro · 17/11/2025 13:47

I’m only on week 4 (5th jab tomorrow)
I’ve lost 13lbs - so really pleased.
But oh my god the fatigue!
I’m so knackered. I have been training with a PT for over a year now and am finding it really hard to get myself to the gym outside of our sessions. I REALLY don’t want to lose muscle though so am trying to persevere.
Has anyone else had this? Did it pass?

Are you eating enough to sustain you?

Mysticmaiden · 17/11/2025 17:40

Yes I've had it for over 13 months, almost every day I've been on it. It could be the low calories but I think it's mounjaro itself. I'm going to try wegovy on Friday to see how it works for me esp with a lot of hair loss.

I’m finding it hard to eat more than 1000 calories the first 5 days - am drinking loads of water and taking vitamins too. Focusing on protein and veg. I am eating 3 times a day.

Maybe I need to build in some snacks. I’m just not hungry.

Your loss is quite quick. You could reduce the dose, lose slower and have more energy?

You could get your bloods checked for vit b etc?

Try supplements like creatine and NAC?

The weight loss causes the hair loss, not the drug, so if you keep losing weight, which you may not in wegovy, it will be the same, it comes back v quickly when your weight stabilises.

I’ve been on it nearly a year and had some periods of fatigue, but now I’m not trying to lose weight anymore, I have more energy than at anytime I can remember in my whole adult life. Zipping around the place. So I reckon some of it was low calories and especially low carbs. I do need to eat some carbs every now and then.

No its actually listed as a side effect of the drug. Some people get it some don't. My weight loss has been 1lb a week, even first 6 weeks I only lost 5lbs. Its the meds itself and its a side effect. I've been on diets before and very low iron and never lost until I started mj.

PurpleCoo · 18/11/2025 06:18

You aren't eating enough, that's why you are fatigued. I go to the gym 4 times a week and often double up and do two classes on one visit or do a class and a swim, plus I walk a lot, including long hikes and hill/mountain walks on regular trips.

I eat 1400-1500 calories a day, and have kept my dose low so I'm not overly suppressed and also then haven't ever experienced much at all in the way of side effects.

Are you taking the bonus dose for week 5? What's your next pen strength? I would advise not increasing the dose

Sticking with it for second pen.

Not doing golden dose - I hate needles. The pen is enough for me!

Think this might be it - will try more carbs. I have been low carbing for a year or so before WLIs so have carried on with that - but will add some back in and see if that helps.

it says observed in patients with weight loss, as it is not the drug, but the weight loss itself. Hence why it is phrased differently, you can google and find out more.

It's definitely not weight loss itself, if you read all the reviews from WLI users who have also previously lost stones with gastro surgery, keto diets or weight watchers etc they haven't lost any hair other than on WLI. It's all out there to read. If it was weight loss itself, millions losing weight would lose hair but they don't.

Ok we will agree to disagree I think. Can you say why it is not evidenced in patients who take mounjaro who don’t lose weight? Surely if it was the drug, and directly linked, it would be all patients.

the scientific information coming out is it is observed in patients who use it for weight loss and it is down to one of three issues:

hornonal changes, as weight loss disrupts hormones,
nutrional deficiencies, people don’t eat fully nutrionalky when losing weight,
telegenic effluvium, due to stress on the body,

all online pharmacies all also pretty much say it is not direct usage of the drug, can you maybe explain why you think it is directly the drug, and why it is not evidenced in people who don’t lose weight on it ie diabetes patients and why no one suffered it in trials, where weight loss and nutrition was managed correctly/optimally?
