Subscription / ordering second oen

So sorry if this is asked and answered I couldn’t find the information.

I bought my first pen 2.5 from Bolt Pharmacy paying £110. I will soon need to purchase my second pen and I plan to get 5mg.

Bolt have emailed and said it will be £191. I’ve looked on the Monj comparison site and see it can be cheaper.

Is there any reason I shouldn’t buy from elsewhere? Will I get approved? Do other people tend to switch providers every time or stay with the same pharmacy regardless of price?

No reason not to buy it elsewhere, just make sure that you have cancelled the Bolt subscription in time to avoid being charged.

You will likely get approved, you just need evidence of your previous prescription which is usually a photo of the prescription label on the medication box showing the date, your name, and the dosage.

I have moved provider several time to get new customer discounts. It's pretty common I think.

I’ve been wondering this too.

So if you have a current prescription do you need to go through all the validation etc with a new provider?

Would this work if your BMI goes under 30 (or 27 where applicable).

And presumably you don’t have to start on lowest dose all over again.

Do people just hop around providers that aren’t subscription based?

I know this will have been in many posts, but I’m new here and finding this is a very fast moving, info heavy board!

@NoNewClothes

Yes, you need to fill out their consultation form. The new provider has to make their own prescribing decision based on the information you provide. There will be a section on the form which asks if you are already on a WLI, and if so, which one and what dose. You will have to provide any photos/id/videos etc that they ask for.

Would this work if your BMI goes under 30 (or 27 where applicable).

Yes, absolutely, unless your BMI is too low. Providers will have a lowest BMI that they will take people on at, usually around 25 to 21. Some providers are happy to prescribe for maintenance and will continue to prescribe to you as long as your BMI doesn't go too low.

And presumably you don’t have to start on lowest dose all over again.

No, you show the evidence of your previous prescription and you are then offered the same dose, or one up/down if you prefer.

Do people just hop around providers that aren’t subscription based?

Yes. You can even hop around the subscription ones too as long as you remember to cancel before the next month's payment is due. People tend to go for the best deal wherever it comes from, and then move on. The website http://monj.co.uk has a list of providers that can be useful to check the current best deals and new customer discounts.
