Did MJ not work for you at all? Was 3 months long enough especially as it was under the NHS, maybe persevered a bit longer? I appreciate it doesn't work for everyone. But these products won't do a thing.

This is it advertising on amazon

You know that there are lots of fakes on Amazon, eBay etc There is very little control on social media advertising which is a bit like the Wild West - TikTok in particular is rife with dodgy ads with Instagram not being far behind.

How do you know the NHS is promoting this? Anyone can grab an NHS logo and stick it on their advert which doesn’t mean the NHS promotes it. Amazon don’t check the legality of all these claims from their sellers. Have you found stuck on real NHS website that says this is great?

I’m surprised that the GP decided that Mounjaro wasn’t working for you after just 3 months. I’d expect that sort of decision to come only after you’d worked your way through to the highest dose and been on that for at least 4 weeks. And not lost 5% of your starting weight. You’d be better off going back to your GP and asking why they didn’t think to persevere with Mounjaro up to the highest doses.

OP - please do not waste your money on snake oil. If Mounjarno didn’t work for you there are still various other prescription medications that could help. Go back and speak to your GP

Oh dear.

How could the NHS put there name to it and it's on amazon and social media adverts

The NHS prescribe mounjaro which is a well tested and lincensed drug which has been safely used for many years. Lots of drugs prescribed for the NHS don’t have 100% success rate.

The shit on Amazon is not a well tested drug. It’s some doddgy crap which isn’t tested.

stealthninjamum · 26/10/2025 15:53

Op I listen to the which podcasts and it’s very easy to advertise fake / counterfeit or unsafe goods with sellers like Amazon and eBay and they never get removed. It’s also possible for someone to buy fake reviews. Please don’t buy a medical product online

I've seen it too.

When you were on mounjaro were you following a calorie deficit and lowering your carbs and drinking more water?
It's not a magic potion and you have to control what you eat. Higher protein lower carb diets work better with mounjaro. I've lost weight, by 2.5 months I'd lost a stone and I'm prediabetic so if I can do it, anyone can. I do track all my food.

Just because it’s on instagram doesn’t mean it is the fully approved and regulated GLP1. Any fool can mock up a good advert and that stuff is probably mixed up in someone’s garage lockup.

Hi op,

Ah so sorry MJ did not work for you, was it a decision the doctor took if you weren’t losing weight for example?

Sorry to be nosey.

(Thank you.)

uglyfeet · 26/10/2025 18:50

Could they not look into tablet form Rybelsus if you have prescription eligibility for Mounjaro?

Unfortunately 3 months just isn't long enough to know- there can't have been any level of real titration in that time, it can take many months. If the GP said no more for medical reasons I'd get that- but am more than a bit surprised they said after only 12 weeks it doesn't work for someone.

It's a clear scam advert.

And I'm sure I've already answered the same thing to the same post on here recently.

Oh right. I just wondered if doctors were working to the 12 weeks period, same as I got when I’m not eligible for GLP1’s on nhs prescription but I found myself put on a 12 week digital programme focusing on weight loss.

My area it seems supports the bariatric surgery and I often wonder what happens if someone actually does not want surgery.

Yes I agree it is a puzzling short period of time allowed otherwise.

The diabetic nurse seemed impressed I’d lost 1% of weight (🙈) (I wondered if I may have got a different response if the nhs were forking out) when I was purchasing the GLP1 privately and I was advised 12 weeks off the GLP1 and they will be re-testing to see if my diabetes has remained in remission so I was just being a nosey parker. Sorry to derail op.

Wildgoat · 27/10/2025 07:28

I’m also confused as to why you only got 3 months op. GPs were only prescribing for diabetes, most still are, and if it didn’t work, then why are you searching Amazon for cheapo scam stuff from China? If your weight is high enough for a gp to step in and prescribe then they’d not take you off and say bye then,

I mean try it, it won’t do you any harm, you loose a tenner, I think you know it doesn’t work, obvs, and the nhs don’t recommend it.

all that’s happened is that some scammers have jumped on the glp bandwagon to exploit people who can’t afford the drugs but want them, and selling this stuff. They get caught, it is put a stop to. Then another brand turns up.

there is no glp in these tablets, it’s plant extract, so things like liquorice, ginger, cinamman, and really just there to exploit the desperate and vulnerable.

im not sure you’re being honest about the 3 months on it with the gp. If it’s just the case you want it, and can’t afford it, then just say that.
