Christmas and Mounjaro

Has anyone managed to take a break for a couple of weeks, then pick up after Christmas or other times in the year ? I know the medication stays in our system for about a month, but that doesn’t stop appetite returning a lot sooner.
I was considering, if I’ve lost enough by December, taking a couple off weeks between injections and wondered if anyone else has experience of doing similar.

I took a weeks break in September to enjoy a long weekend away. I wanted to enjoy a meal out without being full after a few bites or feel sick if I ate cheese and drank more than one glass of wine! It was fine. I didn't gorge myself silly, I ate what I needed and enjoyed myself in moderation. I didn't put on any weight and just went back to my normal dose the following week. To be honest it was a good test of how I behaved around food and the new habits I am forming. I am not on mounjaro to punish myself by never eating a cake or pizza again. I am getting a healthy body back and changing my habits to keep that going in the future.

I eat cake and pizza on mounjaro all the time. If you are not able to do so perhaps your dose is too high?

Cake is fine but anything with cooked cheese on seems to upset my stomach unfortunately, same with anything too oily. Im only on 5mg and its the only side effect I've suffered so I don't mind too much. I do get really full very quickly so am just working out my calories for the day and splitting it into lots of small meals so I don't feel uncomfortable and I allow myself treats (everything in moderation) Got a stone to go to my goal weight and am so pleased.

I’ve just had the Jewish festivals. On a day when I knew it would be a big lunch I didn’t eat breakfast, and I managed to enjoy the lunch (usually with wider family) and then either didn’t eat dinner or just had something very light. On days when it was a big family dinner I made breakfast and lunch smaller, ate the dinner and then skipped breakfast the next day. I enjoyed all the family meals although ate less, didn’t eat roast veg or dessert. I suppose it depends on your motivation, I still lost weight just at a slower pace.
