Travelling with mounjaro pens?

I am due to go away on an all inclusive basis in the early hours of Saturday morning. I usually inject on a Sunday evening.

Can I travel with a pen or is that problematic? Would I be better to inject early? It would be at least 36 hours early which feels a lot. I am not keen to all inclusive for the week without the injection, although we do have a very active week planned - loads of walking.

Any advice?

Went from UK to Portugal with ours no problems

I travelled with one and there was no issue at all. I put it in the liquids bag.

Should have said - going to Spain. Did you have any paperwork with you? My son is a type 1 diabetic and we are told to always carry copies of prescriptions.

I be took mine abroad this summer to south east Asia. No problem - I had it in a carry case from Oushk to keep it a bit cool, but as it was a pen I’d already started I wasn’t too worried.

I have taken pens to Turkey several times and around Indonesia (through Dubai) with no issues at all. Either use an insulin cool pack with ice packs or a Frio wallet to carry your pen. I took a folded up box with prescription label to Indonesia just in case but nobody has never even checked! Pen and needles (and syringes) in my hand luggage. Simples!

Have a fabulous time!

I have travelled a lot and keep the pen in my handbag and didn’t even remove it when going through security. The NHS app has it in as a prescription even if bought from an online pharmacy (I use med express). No one has ever asked.

I bought a small carry case from Amazon that has ice packs inside. Make sure you keep the bit of the box with your prescription details on and take it with you. They may ask for it, they may not.
I should imagine the security screeners see a lot of WLI coming through these days.

I carry paperwork for Adalimumab injections through airports and no-one gives a shit. Never been queried, just waved through.

The new spectrometer scanners know what everything is, presumably, and that the liquid is safe in the aircraft cabin.
