Pen not clicking even though loads left - waste of moneu

Ugh just typed out a massive post and lost it.

Basically, pen not turning despite loads of MJ left in there. Medexpress asked for a video and I’m not sure they’ve even watched it as I asked a question in the video and they haven’t answered it, just sent generic copy paste ‘how to prime’ ‘how to inject’ bumpf. This is my 3rd pen so I know how to do it.

Getting to 36 clicks then stopping.

AIBU to think what a waste of money, especially since the huge price hike - this pen was £200! How do I get that MJ that I’ve paid for, into my body? Help! That’s WAY more than is usually left at the end of a pen.

It sounds like you're not using the pen as it is intended to be used. You won't have a leg to stand on with your prescriber unfortunately

I had this a few times and as long as it is not " the golden dose" I found changing the needle made it work

Yes they do and yes you can but you will need to extract the last bit using insulin needles.

Pens lock after a certain number of clicks.

Your presciber won't help if you are using it off prescription.

If it's any help, I have been on MJ since last October but only used the golden dose for the first time a couple of weeks ago (because of the price increases). It was really easy. I looked on youtube how to do it.

They probably didn't realise that you had not used it as per the instructions and that you had done 2 normal doses and 2 reduced doses by counting clicks. Even if they had, they would not have instructed you to do anything other than move on to your next pen, as that pen has not got a full normal dose remaining in it that can be normally accessed.

It is risky for remote prescribers to advise or condone off license use. They could possibly lose their jobs, or the pharmacy its license. So yes, you are asking too much from them.

This. Prescribers will never explain how to use the golden dose or how to use insulin needles to extract. Or at least they really, really shouldn’t. It’s off license, not considered “safe”, and they could get their prescribing license suspended. Not to mention be sued if someone really fucked up and got hurt as a result.
