I stopped Wegovy and it’s all piled back on. What now?

I was using Wegovy for about 18 months and had already started to see the effects wear off on the highest dose, having lost about 12 kg, down from 93kg. I’ve never had will power and once previously had lost 19kg (but during Covid) before that all went back on again too.

I’m wondering about starting Mounjarno. But I guess then I could end up back in the same situations in another year’s time.

Reason’s to be positive which might mean that won’t happen: 1) I had a miserable job which I’ve now quit so could in theory comfort eat less. 2) I never got down to the target weight where I really would have felt good about myself 3) There was general upheaval at home so I didn’t form new habits. I know this needs to happen.

Any thoughts?

@Bulldogautumn it’s all out there if you have a dig about.

without MJ (or your WLI of choice!) you have a very low chance of maintaining any loss and the sooner we come to accept that, the better: Sheet force of Will and ‘eating less and moving more’ will ssdly
jot work

No different from any diet then ..
But not worse with wLI .
The rate of putting weight back on is high ,,but not more so after injection, than slimming world for example.
It's why they make so much money, because people go back to the group each time they put weight on.
Our bodies are always trying to get to the highest weight ,our fat cells shrink when we diet ,but they never go away .always wanting to fill up again.
But no worse after taking injections than any other diet .
Even weight loss surgery has people on injections because they put weight back on after surgery.
It's going to be hard to keep weight off however we loose it .
I just get annoyed at people trying to bring down others who are trying their best to live healthy.

I think the key is to see it as a lifestyle change ,not a diet that has an end .
So I know I have to continue to track calories for the rest of my life .. whatever tool I am using to help me

I agree completely with this. It's not the fact that we stop WLIs that causes us to put the weight back on. Yes, there are studies which show that when people stop using them, in general they put the weight back on. But the studies are also exactly the same for people who lose weight through "conventional" dieting. The fact is that we're just not very good at sticking to healthy low calorie eating when we reach our goal. It doesn't matter how we lose it, generally speaking we will all put the weight back on, sadly.
It may be that very long term use of WLIs will keep us at goal.
It may be that those of us who have used the time on WLIs to change our eating habits and lifestyle are successful. The ball's in our court I guess.
But the fact that we've lost it by WLIs doesn't per se make us more susceptible to regaining any more than any other diet.
