Can anyone help?

I started MJ around Easter and did 3 weeks. The 3rd week (and 4th despite both drug) I couldn't leave the house. Vomitting and diarrhoea. Couldn't work etc. I had to stop.

I started again beginning of August in a v small dose and have built up to 2mg for the past 3 weeks. I've lost 10lbs but I keep losing and gaining the last 2 lbs. I have v strong suppression. I am hardly eating. Usually get by on one meal. No side effects like before but I feel constipated and bloated.

Any suggestions to speed things up a bit? I'm going to go up to 2.5mg I think on Monday but I'm not sure that's the problem? The suppression is very strong and doesn't seem to wear off. I went 10 days between the last dose and could have gone longer. But the weight doesn't seem to be shifting. I'm usually eating less than 1000 calories a day and definitely no more than 1200. So there is a part of me that wonders if increasing is the right thing to do? At the same time, with the price hike, I don't want to take this if it's not actually helping me lose weight! I've been at this weight 3 weeks now. I get excited when I see the scales drop then it is back on the next day!

I'm also still anxious about the side effects from before too.

Any suggestions?

I would try very hard not to think that you have to lose weight each week, as that’s not how weight loss works. It won’t be linear and constant.

If the suppression is strong and you’re struggling to eat then I wouldn’t up your dose at all. I’d look at trying to sort out the constipation, are you drinking enough and eating enough fibre and so on? If you’re consistently eating in a calorie deficit then the scales will move down eventually.

What types of food are you eating?
Carbs cause bloating and water retention so focus on protein like chicken and veg. Also drink plenty of water, approx 2l a day and this will help with both constipation and bloating.

Thank you. I'm definitely not drinking enough (and I knew that really).
I'm eating a lot of protein already. I don't eat loads of carbs anyway. But even less at the moment.

The scales shifted 2lbs this morning (but it's the same 2lbs). So I'll attempt to up the water this weekend.

Thank you for the advice

If you are eating one meal a day, you probably aren't eating enough to help lose weight

Also to agree with previous poster reply, you do have to eat little and often to keep blood sugar stable. Try that instead on one meal a day. Intermittent fasting can cause increase in cortisol stress hormone in women and increase in fat gain, especially abdominal. It's different for men due to their stable hormones, efficient utilisation of glucose stores and muscle mass. I tried fasting for 2 months pre mj and actually gained weight, I was prediabetic too though. I eat little and often and have consistently lost throughout my 11 months journey weekly, other than 3 weeks where I had carb heavy days.
