My son has been using MJ, lost 1.st 4 lbs since April has around 5 more to lose but getting little suppression now, but still eating less. About to start 12.5 so he hoping that might be sweet spot ? He is saving up for deposit on a flat so getting bit fed up and ready to give up due to financial reasons. Swimming and cycling few times a week. Seeing other people where weight is dropping off Them. On some medication for MH issues so wondering if could be that or or perhaps the right dose for him might be 12.5/15 ? Anyone else similar and has any success stories that might give him a boost ? Thank you x

What does his diet look like? Is he eating healthily?

Yes definitely less than previous.

The drug doesn’t do all the heavy lifting for you op. He needs to diet, relying on the drug to provide enough suppression to stop him eating, is always going to be problematic and cause him to be on the highest and most expensive doses.

once the initial novelty wears off, it can be easy to rely too much on the drug, without taking active control.

He needs to actively count his cals, diet, and eat healthy, the drug reduces appetite as a side effect to enable that, whilst doing multiple other things, like ensuring we produce enough insulin, controlling our blood sugar levels etc. it isn’t just problematic if you try to rely fully on the drug, it means when you come off you will just regain.

he clearly did well at the beginning, and he does have suppression, so he now needs to focus on dieting, using the drug as a tool to enable that. Or he’s going to spend a lot of money and then be back where he was this time next year.

Agree, thank you. Just wondered if some people only seem to lose more at the higher doses. As some seems to with very small doses.
