Massively overweight but apprehensive of using jabs because

  1. Current cost
  2. Increased cost
  3. Side effects
  4. Injecting myself. I don't like needles
  5. Best place to buy. Is the cheapest the best
  6. Waiting for Dr to approve
  7. Husband comments. He is patronising at the best of times
  8. Sticking to using the jabs
  9. When best to start. Going on holiday soon but will try and find another reason to delay when return
10. Effectiveness of the jab even when ive read loads of reviews

bless you, you sound like me before I started..minus the DH comments. I’m 62lbs lighter since starting last November and my life is immeasurably better.

  1. The cost will be offset by saving on food/takeaway/wine etc.
  2. The significant cost increases are for the higher doses. You may not need them, suppression affects everyone differently. I never went above 7.5mg and stayed on 5mg for the majority of my WL
  3. SE are different for everyone. I found jabbing before bed, drinking tons of water, staying off fizzy drinks, having enough fibre, enough protein and staying off fatty foods meant minimal SE.
  4. Needles are extremely fine. Grab a roll of tummy fat and you’ll be surprised at how little you feel. It’s a common fear.
  5. Personal choice. I found MedExpress to be very efficient and reliable.
  6. You don’t need a Dr’s permission unless you have a specific condition that requires a consultation before you start. The online pharmacist will approve your prescription.
  7. 😩 tackle your weight first. Then address the issues in your relationship. Suffice to say you are worth more than that.
  8. You will. The product expires after 30 days. You won’t want to waste the money. I jab on a Monday - gives me good suppression during the week and allows me to relax at the weekend.
  9. Start now. No time like the present! Join one of the specific month starter threads on here for support. Yoh can take the pen on holiday. Holidays don’t have to just mean eating and drinking.
  10. It isn’t a silver bullet. You need to put the work in - overhaul your diet and exercise to maximise your financial commitment. You need to invest in yourself in terms of time, nutrition and exercise. Buy a set of smart scales to understand your stats including BMR (basal metabolic rate) so you know how many calories you need to just exist before putting weight on. Even if you don’t start WLI’s these are really useful. I bought Renpho ones for about £25 on Amazon.

No one can make your mind up for you, but I can tell you that I feel lighter - literally and metaphorically - than I have done in years. Check in on one of the more experienced threads if you want advice or help.

Mostly all valid concerns, although you don’t need to wait for your Dr to approve and your husband can do one.

Maybe you’d be best looking at a slightly more expensive provider who also have coaching to help you get the best of yourself on the jab? Although Medicine Marketplace are one of the cheapest, they do offer guidance but not the kind of support say like Juniper.

And most importantly, clearly your weight is an issue for you or you wouldn’t be considering jabs. It may be medical, I don’t know but I assume it’s due to how you feel? What I will say is by loosing the weight, you’ll undoubtedly feel much more confident and hopefully more happy and that should be more than enough to keep you focused on your goal.

Stop making excuses for why you can’t do something and find the reason why you can and hopefully change your life for the better.

Oh and then you can stick two fingers up to hubby.

  1. Current cost
  2. Increased cost - current cost is the increased cost
  3. Side effects - I was terrified of side effects but if you drink lots of water, avoid coffee, spicy and fatty foods most people have very mild side effects
  4. Injecting myself. I don't like needles - can some one else so it for you?
  5. Best place to buy. Is the cheapest the best
  6. Waiting for Dr to approve - dr doesn’t approve. It’s the pharamist you order from.
  7. Husband comments. He is patronising at the best of times. You need a a whole new thread in this in relationships. Can you afford to continue if you split up? For most people it’s a drug for life.
  8. Sticking to using the jabs - I find it much easier than taking tablet.
  9. When best to start. Going on holiday soon but will try and find another reason to delay when return. When are you going? Week 2 of a new dose is always the worst for side effects. You will need to imform travel insurance. Mine just noted it and didn’t charge anymore.

Mj has changed my life for the better.

I have similar concerns.

With the price increases they may be the price increases we see now but it's dented my trust that Elly Lilly won't do this again (and other pharmaceutical companies in general) at a future time.

As I had imagined I'd be on it for life and I'm hoping other companies producing rival drugs would bring the prices down.

And new drugs would be better, smarter and easier to administer. (Orally?)

  1. Current cost-just shop around
  2. Increased cost- again, shop around
  3. Side effects- you may not have any/many
  4. Injecting myself. I don't like needles. Its small. You do it because you have to
  5. Best place to buy. Is the cheapest the best. There is only one manufacturer, it's all the same so if go woth the cheapest unless you need to pay for additional support.
  6. Waiting for Dr to approve- doesn't need to its online pharmacy
  7. Husband comments. He is patronising at the best of times- this is a whole other issue. You may have side effects and do need to be supported. Do you have a friends or family you could tell if you start?
  8. Sticking to using the jabs- you will because you will jave paid and it's a waste of money not to
  9. When best to start. Going on holiday soon but will try and find another reason to delay when return- id wait until back in case of side effects.
10. Effectiveness of the jab even when ive read loads of reviews- some people it works for straight away. Others it takes higher doses. Some it doesn't work at all but you have to eat well, and where possible, move more. You really dont know what the effect will be until you try it. I was worried and now 4 stones down. I wish id started earlier. I may have to be on mj long term though so have had to consider long term costs
