Go to the hairdresser. Mine has told me that there is lots of baby hair growing back. I couldn't see it but it was reassuring to know that it is happening.

Totally get how worrying that must feel! A lot of people notice hair shedding after big changes in diet, meds, or weight loss—it’s usually your body adjusting. Things that can help: making sure you’re getting enough protein, iron, and vitamins (especially biotin and zinc), keeping stress low, and being gentle with your scalp (no tight styles/harsh products). Sometimes it’s temporary and slows down once your body stabilizes.
Also, keeping an eye on overall health is important—sometimes hair changes can be an early signal of other issues (kind of like how noticing signs of dementia early can make a big difference in outcomes). If it keeps up, I’d definitely check in with your doctor to rule out deficiencies or thyroid stuff.
Hang in there—it usually improves with time!

I asked my GP if they could put me on minoxidil, apparently they can't prescribe it on the nhs unless exceptional circs so a private prescription through hair and me it is! They start you off on £15 a month then ramp it up to £35 after 3 months so they know what they are doing. So far no difference and hair still coming out loads but I have to feel like I'm doing something and it is a proper clinically tested medication so on with it I will continue

That sounds really stressful – losing hair in clumps can be such a shock, especially when you’re finally making progress with something else like weight loss. Quite a few people do report hair shedding when the body’s under stress or adjusting to medication/rapid weight changes, so you’re definitely not alone.
A couple of things that sometimes help: making sure you’re getting enough protein and iron, keeping stress levels down (easier said than done!), and maybe asking your GP to run a blood panel to rule out deficiencies like vitamin D, B12, or thyroid issues. Some people also swear by gentle scalp massage and switching to a mild shampoo/conditioner just to reduce strain.
And because you mentioned wanting to protect your overall health long term, I thought I’d share a resource I found useful on recognizing signs of dementia early totally different topic, but it’s one of those things that shows how important looking after the body and mind is in the bigger picture.
Hopefully the shedding slows down once your body adjusts – but if it keeps happening, definitely get it checked out sooner rather than later.

Iv been on MJ since oct but mostly wear hair extensions. This time when I had them out for a break I noticed I had lost significant hair. I had a feeling I had as I can also see so many baby hairs!! Things we do to be thin.😅
