I’m on week 2 of 5mg. Took dose in tummy on Friday about 6pm.

was fine yesterday but vomited last night overnight and very watery stools.

could only tolerate a couple spoons of Special k this Am and drank about 500ml water.

felt Susan’s all day and now just vomited loads of water and the breakfast.

feel so nauseous. Any advice?

You need dioralyte or similar and follow the instructions on that. When you can tolerate the dioralyte then you can try very plain foods and see how you go. Also contact your provider for advice. If you can’t keep dioralyte down then you may need to get some NHS advice.

Ok brilliant. Thank you both loads. I’ll go now. Have a 4 hour drive ahead of me so do not need this today.

So sorry OP. Sounds awful. cyclizine, kwells and pepto bismo may be worth trying. I was living on those whilst on 5mg. Hope your sickness settles soon.

Keep hydrated, take anti-nausea medicine as others have suggested and, personally, unless you are totally back to normal by next jab day, I would reduce your next dose back to 2.5mg to let it settle

Not the same thing but when I had a child being sick and not keeping anything down, hospital told us to keep giving a teaspoon of fluid every 5 or 10 mins. Just the tiniest bit possible at a time.

Anti sickness meds, electrolytes and time. I was exactly the same on my second dose of 5mg. I honestly thought I had done some permanent damage but thankfully it was just the increase of Mounjaro being a shock to the system. It did take 5 days though to pass.

Lifecircle · 17/08/2025 16:54

I'm guessing taking 5mgs after 2.5 is a shock to the system as it's doubling the dose?
Apologies if this comment doesn't help.
I have recently gone from 2.5 mgs after 10 weeks to ordering and contemplating 5mgs and decided to take 3.75mgs. This dose has caused me to have extreme nausea and some diarrhoea in the first 4 days.
I've decided to use 36 clicks on my following jab and go from there.
Hope you feel better soon.

The level of medication in your body will increase again on your third dose of 5mg so I would be wary of taking that much again next week. You could click count to take a lower dose and just go up more slowly. Professor Naveed Sattar was talking about how some people need to go slower and have the dose titration individualised for them on BBC Radio 4 recently.
