This is not a post about opinions on whether the jabs are safe or not etc..
a friend is on jabs - not MJ - not prescribed.. she’s literally not eating for a couple of days… I get that it suppresses your appetite but surely it shouldn’t starve you?
Ive suggested she reduce the amount, but as I’m not on it I can’t really offer any advice. And as it’s not prescribed she’s not getting any ‘medical’ advice either
I I have no idea what does she’s on or what brand so can’t answer that either…but feedback to show her would be really helpful
thanks

Ps. Should have said… she physically can’t eat… and sometimes is sick.
we went to the gym this morning- no food inside her.. did about 10 mins of cardio, threw up and went home…
I can see how the jab benefits in relation to curbing appetite… but I thought it was to help reduce it not stop you eating at all

She should stop injecting whatever it is (no one can know) that she's buying. It's as simple as that. Regardless of what it's doing to her appetite.

Yeah she probably should… however that’s not the advice I’m looking for. if there’s a market for something that people then people will buy it… especially if the price is lower..

She should speak to the registered pharmacy which prescribed it for her. Or stop it otherwise

SilenceInside · 16/08/2025 12:10

How can anyone advise anything else though? We don’t know what she’s taking, could be insulin even, could be something else. What advice is there other than to stop injecting an unknown substance with an unknown background (hygiene? Storage?) into herself?

Is she even obese?

what other advice can any of us really give? We and more importantly she has absolutely no idea what she is injecting into herself. Our advice on this forum is as users of a prescribed medication with known ingredients and possibly side effects. It’s clearly making her dangerously unwell. You need to kindly advise her to stop. Speak to her partner/someone else you think she will listen to if that’s not you. If you know where she’s getting it from, report them to the authorities. In terms of her malnutrition, anything she can keep down right now to address that short term issue - protein drinks, smoothies, whatever she can stomach.

She is pretty over weight… think it’s an affordability issue
im confident it’s proper stuff - think someone else is doing the consultation stuff… but will definitely show her the feedback
thanks

Edited

I guess what I was asking is that it shouldn’t make her not eat at all… that’s my concern… so either too high a dose (as it’s not her prescription) or possibly something else entirely…
thanks

I don’t get how it’s cheaper to involve a middle man in the process? Fraudulently obtaining apparently legitimate medication like this is usually because of not actually qualifying for the prescription legitimately. Not about cost, because it wouldn’t be cheaper and likely more expensive.

HansHolbein · 16/08/2025 12:50

Could be any old shit she’s injecting, so who knows what it should or shouldn’t be doing.

Utterly stupid and makes us all look like stupid twats as this sort of bollocks ends up in the Daily Mail.

If it is on prescription, it sounds like she might need a lower dose. She needs to speak to her provider, but they will be busy right now probably with the price changes etc.

BethRider · 16/08/2025 12:53

thanks all… I’ve suggested that she stops… (summary of conversation)and she said she’ll go via gp on Monday…
sometimes just showing the perspective of strangers is good enough advice ☺️

Sounds like she is injecting a mystery chemical in a fake pen or vial, or she is using a medication she is not eligible for, no one can advise her other than to say stop and buy from a safe GPhC registered pharmacy.

Please try to convince her to not take these risks with her safety and health.

beetr00 · 16/08/2025 13:12

Is she buying from a reputable pharmacy @BethRider?

IF she is, then perhaps the dose is too high for her?

She could titrate down and see if that would be effective/less nauseous

Otherwise, it is best to visit her GP as you've mentioned.

You said that “It’s not MJ & not prescribed” but then go on to say that you are “confident it’s proper stuff” How can you possibly know what she’s taking? It really could be any concoction of shite she’s injecting. Very dangerous, I get that price maybe an issue but is it actually worth risking her life.

If she isn’t get it from a pharamacy then it’s 100% a back street drug. No one knows what is in them or how strong they are. The only sensible advice anyone can give is to stop taking it.

KnickerlessParsons · 16/08/2025 14:47

Happened to me on MJ. After just the first 3 weeks on the lowest doseI literally couldn’t eat anything and had v loose bowels.
I had to stop taking it.
Prescribed for me by a local, independent pharmacy after detailed history and examination.

IsItSnowing · 16/08/2025 15:29

If she's obese then she should be getting it from a reputable pharmacy. Doing anything else is wreckless.
It sounds as though she is getting it through an unofficial source and while you may be confident it is a genuine product, there really is no way to be sure. Her symptoms sound extreme so something is very wrong.
No amount of money saved is worth risking your life for, and that is exactly what she's doing.
