Saxenda - no longer effective?

Is this still considered an effective method of appetite suppression? With the recent news about MJ prices going up, is there a reason why people aren’t going back to Saxenda?

I have lost 4 stone since April on the New You Plan, endorsed by the NHS, and have been thinking about moving onto a low dose WLI to maintain/lose the final few pounds.

I can’t afford MJ or Wegovy but I can afford Saxenda.

Where are you seeing it for sale?

used it a few years back and it was good!

You say "the final few pounds" - do you qualify for WLI?

I think most of us went for MJ on the basis it was the most effective of the available options.

I suspect many of us will consider moving now.

Is it much cheaper though? Might be in the early days but once you get to main dose it's 5 pens per month: https://click.compare/saxenda/

I have admit though I don't understand this drug particularly so maybe, like MJ, many people don't need the max dose?

PharmacyOnline.co.uk

A friend has been using it and has only gone up one dose from 0.6 to 1.2 and says she has no appetite whatsoever. She has force herself to eat small nutritious meals. I think you can increase the dosage weekly but she was telling me she doesn’t need a higher dose, the suppression and the lack of food noise is very much present on 1.2 daily. She’s gone from 20stone to 12 in just over a year.

I don’t need to lose much more weight, my BMI is around 27 but I like the idea of no cravings and no constant thoughts of my next meal.

@333FionaG with a BMI that low, unless you are a POC, you are very unlikely to qualify for any injections.

So it’s back to calorie counting and exercise? Ah well, I’m so much happier at 9st than 13st, so I guess I can do it without a magic pen 🖊️
