Mountain price hike. Is this true?

I just saw a doll on Tik Tok say moumjaro prices about to sky rocket effective 1st September. I’m only two mouths in but I can’t afford over £200 per month! Has anyone else heard this? I asked her what he source is but she’s ignored the message. Thanks.

It’s reported in the Financial Times. Effective from 1 September. It will bring our prices in line with the rest of Europe.

It may not be as simple as just a massive price hike. What has been reported is an increase in the list price to wholesalers and pharmacies. That isn’t the final price they pay, or what they charge consumers. There will be negotiations between now and then to get better rates and discounts so that any price rises are minimised. We won’t know the final impact of this until Sept onwards.

Maybe it's as simple as supply and demand?
If the UK is significantly cheaper, maybe some are exported and someone that isn't the manufacturer is getting tidy profits.

Cost and capacity of manufacturing. UK supplies could run at a loss, so naturally this needs to change. Demand could be higher than anticipated, so by increasing the price demand could drop in line with manufacturing capacity.

Are they trying to get everyone to buy before sept 1?

My provider has emailed to say that they are keeping the price for 2.5mg and 5mg as it is but will increase the dosage of 7.5mg and higher

Chequp. I am not sure as I am on 2.5mg at £149

sandwichsue · 14/08/2025 18:52

@AnonAnorathats great news! Who is that with? I’m struggling to tolerate 5mg after a week so I’d nearly stay on that another month.

I also found the NHS comments in the statement a bit baffling.
