Signed up for mounjaro, any advice or heads up?

I have just signed up, although yet to have to fully confirmed with Jupiter. I am vegetarian although have more vegan days. I like a drink but realise this will change as it makes you feel ill I believe. I am 5ft 4 and 12 stone 8 and 50 years old. What to expect really? I like eating out but there is never a good time so just plan to have a couple of healthy days before it arrives and just start without putting it off.

I imagine as your bmi is only just into the obese category they will be very careful at establishing your weight and may well need you to get your height verified. They are much tighter with bmi and requiring videos and being very sure of starting images. Don’t worry about the photos, as you say they are private and are necessary.

I wish I had taken measurements to compare as well as pictures. I wish I had started collagen from the start, as I'm having good effects from it months in, but wonder if my wrinkly tummy would have gone by now if I'd used it all along.

What collagen are you taking please?

I was sucked into the ancient and brave hype on Instagram, but I was pleasantly surprised by the results!

@daffodilandtulip i started taking collagen almost straight away, good stuff, high quality, marine and bovine, can't say it's made a whole lot of difference tbh, I only weighed 12 stone 4 to start with, so not massively overweight, I think genetics might come into it, but it's really disheartening to lose the weight, which even with mounjaro has been an undertaking, and then look like a saggy mess.

I am hoping that as I didn't have stretch marks when having my children that I will be ok but agree, it is a worry now. Maybe monitor and stop? I don't know but need to lose weight and planning that no one sees me naked!

I've been on it since end of March/April this year, had a nice steady weightloss of a stone and a half so far, but I have a ways to go.

Searingtheserum · 10/08/2025 20:59

@GreenL6 good luck, take the supplements and exercise and drink loads of water, it's not all doom and gloom, I look bloody great with clothes on, size 8 is still better in clothes than a size 16 I think, I never have had saggy skin like this when I've lost weight before, but then I've never lost 3 and a bit stone before.
I was unhappy being a 16,which is why I started the mounjaro, in the first week I lost seven pounds, and I know that this is not all fat lol, but it continued, albeit a bit slower, until now at 9 stone and a smidgen, I don't really know where to go now, stop, micro dose, carry on? It's just to make you aware of the other side so to speak, those first 2 or 3 months were euphoric, dropping down dress sizes, fitting in a size 10 was bliss, size 8 even better, but then I really didn't think of any downside or the plan going forwards at the beginning and it's gone really quickly, I'm having to adjust to a new me and it's not the new me I necessarily thought it would be.

Ordered some extra supplements and will take it as steady as I can to help body adjust. Fingers crossed!
